"All work done in a timely and professional manner. I requested a quote on a Sunday evening for two trees to be removed through HomeAdvisor. Patrick responded that evening and scheduled to stop by Monday. Quote was provided on Monday. The two trees were removed, including stumps /roots, sod put down, and two replacement trees planted by that Wednesday afternoon. The area was kept as clean as possible during the work being done and the area was cleaned up when work was completed. I would definitely recommend TrimScape, Corp. to others. Even had a neighbor use TrimScape to trim trees the same day the work was completed on my property."

"Big Dawg's did a phenomenal job of removing my 100 yr old ficus tree and now I have mulch for my whole backyard. One caution, if they have to take down a fence to do your job, you need to know when they are giving you an estimate. The workers were very dedicated and knowledgeable, but admitted when they put back the fence, their not fence people."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

There are a few general rules to follow that will help you prune your trees correctly. One of the most important rules is to prune during the correct season for the type of tree you have. Typically, pruning should be during late winter. For younger trees, you should not remove more than a ⅓ of the tree's crown when pruning. Also, remember to remove dead and diseased branches first, then proceed with pruning the rest of the tree.

Dead trees are dangerous for several reasons. They are structurally compromised and prone to branch or trunk failure, which can pose a significant safety risk to people, vehicles, and nearby structures. Dead trees can also harbor pests like termites, which may spread to other trees or your home. If a tree died from a disease, it could spread the illness to healthy trees. Additionally, the dry wood is highly flammable, increasing fire risk.

You can use the formula mentioned earlier to calculate the depth of tree roots. Each inch of width of a tree trunk translates to six inches of depth within the root system. Large trees extend anywhere from 2 to 6 feet into the ground, with some magnificent specimens going even deeper.

If a tree stump is removed properly, the chances of a tree growing back are low. However, if a tree has a robust root system, roots can sometimes sprout and someday grow into a tree. The chance of regrowth will depend on several factors such as the type of tree, soil quality, and strength of the root system. In general, it is not recommended to plant a tree where a stump was removed.

Coverage varies quite a bit by policy, but most homeowners' insurance policies will cover $500 to $1,000 of the cost of removing a tree. Additionally, if your tree causes damage to your property, like your house, many policies will cover some or all of the costs to repair the damage, depending on why the tree fell.
