Small jobs welcome

"Chris did an absolutely phenomenal job bushhogging and clearing my backyard! The area was completely overgrown, but he made quick work of it, leaving the yard looking clean, open, and completely transformed. Not only was his work top-notch, but his price was by far the best around. I called a few places, and Chris’s rates were the most reasonable and you definitely get more than what you pay for with the quality of his work. He showed up on time, was super professional, and made sure to clean up everything before finishing. I can’t recommend him enough. I’ll definitely be calling Chris again for any future yard projects!"

"Excellent all the way around. Hired them for our HOA common area. Keeps everything looking great, if there’s something that needs attention, it’s as easy as sending a text and it’s taken care of. Ryan is great at communicating if he sees something that needs attention. They definitely take pride in their work. I’ve had members of the community mention to me how much better the common areas look since they took over from the previous company. I also had them maintain my yard for 3 months while I was recovering from an injury. Only reason I didn’t keep them on once I recovered is I actually enjoy working in my yard. During my down time, they kept everything looking the way I like it to look. If you need a solid and reliable lawn and landscape company, this is your guy."

"CPL was true to their slogan- honest, professional and affordable. Steven was a great project manager, communication was excellent and work was completed as promised. We had tree removal and pruning as well as an irrigation upgrade. They took the time to walk us through the completed work and clean up all dirt and debris. We are very pleased."

Excavating questions, answered by experts

Digging a bush up by the roots is the most natural DIY method for removing a bush stump. Start by identifying the shrub type and revealing its roots. Cut the shrub to its base and loosen the soil, ensuring no utility lines are nearby. Optionally, treat the base with herbicide, then dig around the roots and cut a circle around the shrub using various tools. Dig a trench, cut the base of the root ball, and finally fill the hole to prevent regrowth. This thorough process ensures complete removal without damaging surrounding areas.

No, a ditch isn’t a trench. A ditch is an open, relatively shallow channel that’s carved out of the ground and used for drainage purposes. In contrast, a trench is a deeper excavation that’s entirely underground. Trenches have many uses, including gas lines, sewage systems, and electrical wiring. Unlike trenches, ditches don’t get filled back in with dirt after they’re dug.

The easier way to find buried sprinkler lines is to use the plan from the professionals who installed the system. If you don’t have professional plans, listen for running water on your lawn when you turn on the system. You may also spot wet areas, giving you an idea of where the heads are. Once you find the sprinkler heads, you’ll likely be able to connect the dots between them, revealing the system below.

Generally, a trenchless sewer line is worth the cost. If your old system needs replacement, trenchless sewer repair or replacement can save you thousands on excavation costs. Every homeowner’s situation is different, but this method is definitely worth it in a lot of cases.

We recommend removing the stump, and grinding is a popular way to do it. You can also dig out small stumps or stumps that have fully decayed instead of grinding them. However, don’t try using acids or fire for killing a tree stump, which is a fire hazard and illegal in many areas.

Leaving the stump alone invites eventual problems, including attracting termites, mold, and fungi.
