"Hired Nurry for tree removal. I got a very quick response and estimate for the job. The crew was very efficient, polite and cleaned everything after the job was done. They even went beyond and cleaned up some fronds from my front yard. Very happy and highly recommend!"

"Wow! What a quick and efficient job. They masterfully trimmed both of our beloved Oak trees and didn't try to overcharge us like other companies. Then after they were done they cleaned up better than our regular lawn maintenance team. Could not be happier and will definitely be hiring again."

"Raphael was very prompt in responding to my request for quote and arrived exactly on time to do the evaluation. He was very professional and clearly explained his qualifications, recommendations and work plan. In addition, he listened well to understand what we wanted. The quote was very reasonable as well. On the day of the tree service, the staff that arrived to work were on time and very professional with well maintained equipment. They communicated the plan again to ensure it was what we had intended. And after work they cleaned up the area of all debris and cuttings, leaving it as if they hadnâ t been there except for some nicely trimmed trees â which were all done cleanly and were well balanced. In addition, they trimmed in a way that wonâ t damage the tree itself and followed good arborist techniques. Also, the final charge was exactly as we agreed upon in the quote with no hidden fees or upcharges. I will definitely be using them the next time we need our trees maintained and recommended them to neighbors."

"Yonis, the owner is a great person to do business with. I called him for an estimate to clean up my overgrown patio garden and get rid of some trees that were eyesores and difficult to maintain. He responded quickly, gave me a very reasonable quote He and his crew came out and took away everything that was necessary to open my space and created a clean and fresh looking place. He is very personable and has worked in his field for many years since his youth to now where he has his own business. I recommend him without any reservation."

"I appreciate the responsiveness of Belmontscape. I had a small job to remove loose river rock along a fence line in preparation for a fence replacement project by another contractor. Many landscapers would have passed on my request. Belmontscape came out and assessed my request. Once scheduled, the team arrived on time and did a fantastic job. This was a labor intensive project but the team was cheerful and took pride in the job. I would highly recommend Belmontscape for your landscaping needs because they are very dependable and are very professional."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Whether tree roots will continue to grow after a tree has been cut down depends on the species. Some tree roots will eventually die because they can no longer get nutrients through photosynthesis. However, other species that reproduce through root sprouts can continue to grow and produce new sprouts for seven years or more. For example, the roots of elms, ficus, and willows tend to regrow aggressively, while the roots of pines, oaks, and maples will typically die. To determine if a root system is still active, look for new sprouts on the old trunk, stump, or any exposed roots.

Talking with a septic pro before planting trees near your tank is best to ensure the roots won’t interfere with your septic system. However, there is an easy way to figure out where to plant a tree—but you’ll need to know how tall it can get when it’s fully grown. For instance, if the tree can reach 50 feet, plant it at least 50 feet from your septic system.

In most cases, leaving tree roots underground is not a problem if the stump has been removed or ground below the soil. However, some larger roots may decompose, leaving dents in your soil. Additionally, some aggressive trees, including willows, oaks, elms, maples, and poplars may grow back from roots. Large aggressive trees with established root systems are more likely to grow back.

A dead tree should always be cut down, because it could fall and cause injuries or damage, and it can also attract insects like carpenter ants. A tree that’s diseased beyond repair should also be cut down, but it’s not always easy for a homeowner to tell. Signs of disease include dying branches, a hollow trunk, leaning, and discolored or missing leaves, but your best bet is to hire a local arborist who can evaluate the tree and tell you if it can be saved or should be cut down.

All of the tree root removal methods mentioned above are effective on any kind of root, whether it’s still growing or simply needs a gentle nudge to finish decomposing. The only difference is that larger roots tend to be harder to remove and may require multiple chemical treatments as well as manual labor to eradicate.
