"We signed a contract Dec 29/23 for installation of insulation and drywall throughout the entire house, paying 5,500.00 up front for the work to start. The insulation component portion was done within a week and we are very satisfied with the insulation, but the job was held up by improper permit applications (repeated). We found out during the permit process that they were obtaining permits through a general contractor (not the business we hired). We had no idea they didn't have the proper licensing in place in order to apply for the permits required by Lee County! I used Angi as I thought all contractors were vetted, so I was quite surprised to have this issue. Permits were finally issued ~ May 10th after we got involved and sent information to Lee County. By Jun 6th the drywall was installed and we were asked to provide the texture type, where I was told the texture I wanted was level 5 and they don't do that - this was not mentioned in the contract. I settled for a level 4 texture. The texturing was completed and I sent 2,750.00 on Jun 14/24 via PayPal with the provision that there needed to be an inspection before the final 2,750.00 was paid. Upon inspection it was found that the house was left a mess - drywall compound on the doors and door frames, windows and interior doors. As a side note, these were brand new windows and interior doors. There were visible drywall screws and the bathrooms were not completed. They returned and tidied up, applied more compound and said the bathrooms needed to be completed after the tile installers were finished (bath and showers). I paid the final instalment as they were "tight on cash" on Jun 25/24 via Zelle. After the tile people were finished, we had to repeatedly touch base with CMH to finish the bathrooms. Our contract stated "insulate and drywall the house" - they argued that the bathrooms were excluded, but the wording of the contract did not state any exclusions. They finally responded, but the work was subpar and in my mind incomplete. There is one section of the bathroom wall that has a gap between the two drywalls (tiler and drywaller), and the wall isn't flush - about .5 inch different. There was no finishing of this wall and the screws are visible. As far as I can tell from the pictures I've been sent, there are still areas on the walls that are missing texture - corners of the walls. I also found out that they used our ladder while working at our house and left it encased in drywall compound. Finally, don't believe the texture finish matches the one I chose. For the ratings below, the insulation work was fantastic, 5 for all. The ratings below are for the drywall:"

"I was having issues with mice in my attic after hearing them for 2 weeks I had enough I called CritterX an their response was amazing, they removed all my contaminated insulation replaced it with new insulation an set traps up. They don’t use no poison and that was a plus for me right away, it only took them a days work an now I’m mice free they also come an check my traps every week just to be on the safe side an on call when ever I need them, I recommend CritterX any day of the week also for the price I couldn’t give up the opportunity ! I’ll be telling friends an family who to go to for their critter problems for sure."

Drywall Insulation questions, answered by experts

White walls are the toughest color to keep clean and maintain, as they’re extremely unforgiving when it comes to dirt, splatters, dust, and smudges. Still, many people look past their high-maintenance requirements because they lighten and modernize a space beautifully. If you’re opting for white walls, it’s especially important to keep up with regular cleanings, so they stay pristine.

Yes, a fan can help drywall mud dry faster by improving air circulation and reducing humidity in the room. Drywall mud dries through evaporation, so increasing airflow speeds up this process. However, you should position the fan to blow across the room rather than directly on the wet mud. This helps prevent drying too quickly, which can cause cracking. You should also use a dehumidifier if high humidity is an issue.

You can drywall an unheated garage because the material handles cold temperatures perfectly well. There are no risks or downsides to installing drywall in a garage that is not heated, and the material stands up to moisture and other elements quite well. Drywall will protect your unheated garage's electric wires and cables and add fire protection. However, for effective bonding, you should install drywall at a temperature of 55 degrees Fahrenheit or higher.

Wet-sanding and dry-sanding each have pros and cons. Dry-sanding is less messy, so it’s a good option if you’re trying to minimize dust (for example, if you’re sanding an occupied home or working with particularly dry or dusty drywall mud). However, dry-sanding is quicker because you don’t have to keep rinsing a sponge or wait for it to dry before painting.

Whether you need a drywall anchor depends on the specifics of your project, particularly what you're hanging and where. You do not need a drywall anchor if you can screw or nail the object directly into a wooden stud, as the wood provides sufficient support and stability. However, if there are no studs in the location where you plan to hang the item, you should use drywall anchors to ensure it is securely supported. For very lightweight objects, like small pictures, adhesive picture hanging strips can be a suitable alternative to anchors.
