"Gary was the nicest service man and he explained the whole system to me and it was such high quality, it was just what I was looking for. My old vac was over 40 yrs old and finally gave out. Gary came the same day and installed the central vac in the garage. Very quick, he was so professional and left everything cleaned up. I would highly recommend him . He is reliable."

Customers say: Quick response

"Installers Justin, Dallas and James T was awesome! Removed my old inefficient air conditioner, then installed my new high efficient 20 Seer heat pump. Their quality of workmanship far exceeded my expectations. Also, very patient with walking me through how to operate the system at the end. Iâ d give them a 10 star rating if I could. Thank you Southern Heating and Air Conditioning!"

"I have been using Junior for a number of years now, anytime I need a handyman services. He always does an excellent job and exceeds my expectations. In the past I have gotten more than one quote for a particular job and Junior would always gives me the best quote so I don’t bother getting comparison quotes anymore. If I need something done I just call Junior. He is always on time, is very polite and professional and works very quickly and efficiently. Often he may notice some other little problem that may need addressing and he will usually do it with no additional charge. This month I hired him to do some internal painting and repair work at a rental property in Tampa and as usual the work was excellent. I highly recommend him without any reservations."

Central Vacuum Systems questions, answered by experts

The best way to clean central vacuum pipes is to use a maintenance sheet to dislodge clogs and wipe the inside of the pipes clean. Alternatively, a professional can clean your central vacuum pipes for you.

A central vacuum system can be a worthwhile investment depending on your needs and budget. While the upfront cost is higher than a traditional vacuum cleaner, it offers significant long-term benefits. These systems can save you time and make cleaning your home easier, as you only need to carry the hose and vacuum head, eliminating the need to lug a heavy unit up and down stairs. They also tend to operate more quietly and can improve indoor air quality. The convenience and performance over many years may make it a valuable addition to your home if you can budget for the initial installation.

Yes, installing a central vacuum system typically adds value to your home. The ease of use, longevity, and superior suction power of a central vacuum system can add up to $2,000 to your home’s value if you decide to sell. Potential buyers may consider the central vacuum a perk to purchasing your home.

While caulking is handy for quite a bit of jobs, it’s still limited. Any crack or gap larger than 1/4 inch is best left for a more intensive repair job. When you hire house painters, they should run a thorough check to see what they need to repair before they start the job.

Large repairs that caulking typically won’t do well with include cracks or holes larger than a 1/4 inch, rotted wood, or metal surfaces, such as garage doors.

Common repairs for central vacuum cleaners include motor repair, electrical repair, and blocked filters. Central vacuum motor issues typically come with a burning smell and loss of suction. With these issues, you might need simple lubrication to keep it running smoothly, or for more extreme problems, you could need a motor replacement.

Electrical problems or losing suction strength, might be reasons to swap out electrical components for new ones. However, a local central vacuum repair professional can tell you the best plan of action for your system.
