"What an incredibly beautiful finished product. When we were looking for a new custom built in cabinet unit to update our family room, Brian consulted with us, offering great suggestions and a nice plan. When we actually had the unit installed, all we could say was WOW!! It far exceeded our expectations. The workmanship was spectacular and the finishes and style were above all others we considered. Their team of craftsmen are professional and do amazing work. We highly recommend them and would hire them again. Steve W.

"Our project was the installation of expensive custom kitchen cabinets The project was completed on time, and the craftsmanship is amazing . Every cut and every joint is precise: lowers, uppers, refrigerator buildout, and especially the crown molding. Izzy put his heart and soul into our kitchen, and it shows. Once completed, we were very proud of our finished kitchen, and we received innumerable compliments from friends and neighbors. I would recommend Izzyâ s Custom Millwork to anyone, or any business , who is looking for quality, custom, and beautiful millwork and finished carpentry."

"Company owner Dominick did an amazing job in redesigning two of the base cabinets in my kitchen. One of the cabinets had been configured with a huge pullout trash bin, a tiny bin for trash bags behind it, and way too much empty space between the bins and the counter top. He converted the bin space to accommodate a trash bin and a recycle bin plus added a custom drawer above the bins. Another cabinet had been configured with three divided spaces to accommodate large trays, cookie sheets and shallow baking pans, but again with way too much empty space between the top of the pans and the counter top. As with the trash bin cabinet, Dominick added a custom drawer in the space above the pan dividers. He is very professional and does high quality work. I couldn't be happier with the results!"

Cabinet Making questions, answered by experts

If you have a drawer larger than 30 inches, you should consider adding two pulls, but, again, this decision is up to personal preference. Any pro you work with on cabinet installation can help you determine how many pulls you need and where you should place them.

As a homeowner, there are a few things you can do to prepare for your cabinet installer. Once the cabinets are ready for your home, you can do the following:

  • Ensure pets are safely in another room, out of the way of open doors and large moving objects.

  • Clear countertops for removal.

  • Tidy the floor the installers will walk through and around.

  • Prepare to have the installers in your home for the entire day, for multiple days, until the project is done. Expect to have a noisy environment, especially if they will remove old, existing cabinets.

Walls in good condition with an even surface should be fine for frameless cabinet installation. Older, uneven, or warped walls could create problems. Your studs and their spacing are especially important, since frameless cabinets rely so much on wall attachments. Call in a professional installer for a consultation if you aren’t sure.

For safety when installing a vanity, attaching the vanity to the wall is ideal to prevent it from moving. Typically, sinks must be 4 inches away from bathtubs. Also, most states require that you have 21 inches in front of a sink, but the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) recommends 30 inches for more comfort.

Building a bathroom cabinet can be cheaper than buying one, especially if you have woodworking skills and tools. The cost of materials can be less than that of a premade cabinet. However, buying a ready-made cabinet might be more convenient and cost-effective if you factor in your time and effort. Custom-built cabinets offer more flexibility in design and materials, while pre-made options provide ease and faster installation.
