"I also had a window which I needed closed off from the inside in order to have full wall wallpapered. They drywalled & plaster in such a perfect way that thereâ s no way anyone can tell there is a window there. Gregory is extremely detailed. Takes great pride in his work. I am a retired interior designer from South Florida and have seen lots of wallpaper installations and this is the best I have ever seen."

"It is always a pleasure having Garry work on our house! He just helped with a front porch redo by painting the door, trim and touch up. As always, he did an excellent job, and he was very conscientious in his work. He painted our home eight years ago and was able to fix the massive peeling paint and rotten wood issues. I know that peeling paint issues are tricky and he removed at least half the paint on a few areas around the home. Over the years he has also pressure washed a few times and soft washed the roof. He stands by his work, providing a 10 year warranty on the paint job and uses premium materials and provided excellent preparation. We have had no trouble with the paint. I would certainly recommend Garry if you are looking for excellent work."

"George was fantastic! His knowledge of what he does is second to none. His bid was in total without any hidden fees or expenses. He explained the project and it was done exactly as he explained. No dust when removing tile!!!! Amazingly clean and always cleaned up each day. Punctual each day arriving when he said he would. Our whole house tiling is perfect! His attention to detail is amazing! And our master bath!!!! WOW! He created a walk in shower, re did all the tiling in the bathroom, rebuilt the wall and all the way worked with us for adjustments and add one when we saw things we decided we wanted done. He is awesome and the only sad thing is we won’t need him to come back now to do anything else!!! Wonderful experience! Highly recommend!!!"

Wallpaper Removal questions, answered by experts

While it is possible to paint over wallpaper, it is generally better to remove it first to guarantee a smooth, professional finish. Painting over wallpaper can save time, but it may lead to issues if not done correctly.

You can paint over existing wallpaper if it is in excellent condition: smooth, non-textured, clean, and firmly adhered to the wall. Ensure there are no bumps, tears, or peeling areas, and that all corners and seams are securely glued down. You might also consider painting over wallpaper if removing it would damage the underlying wall. Additionally, some wallpapers are specifically designed to be paintable, which can add texture to a room.

However, there are risks. If the wallpaper is textured, damaged, or peeling, these imperfections will show through the new paint. The moisture from the paint can also loosen the wallpaper's adhesive, causing it to bubble and potentially damage the wall. To mitigate these issues, clean the surface thoroughly and use an oil-based primer to help the paint adhere and prevent the old adhesive from bleeding through.

Many peel-and-stick wallpapers aren’t moisture-resistant, so if you install them in high-humidity rooms, mold can grow behind the wallpaper. It’s best to reserve peel-and-stick wallpaper for bedrooms, living rooms, and other rooms with lower humidity levels. Not only does this minimize the risk of mold growth, but it also keeps the wallpaper from bubbling or peeling.

Once again, contact with moisture is the culprit here, though water-resistant varieties of wallpaper are less likely to become wet and develop mold. Using a high-quality exhaust fan or dehumidifier and leaving the doors or windows cracked after bathing will keep this issue at bay.

Most jobs take 1-3 days, depending on room size and adhesive strength.

Using a fabric softener solution is a popular and low-cost DIY method for removing wallpaper, but its effectiveness is limited. While it may work on some types of wallpaper, it is unlikely to be successful on vintage styles, and there is no evidence that it is more effective than other removal methods. There are also several potential downsides: the solution can leave behind a residue that may damage your walls or interfere with the adhesion of new wallpaper. Additionally, this method can create a strong, overpowering aroma that takes a long time to dissipate, making it a poor choice for homeowners sensitive to smells.
