"I put in a request to change a lightbulb that was 15 ft. high and my ladder wouldn’t reach. The technician came out and quoted me $225 for 5 minutes worth of work. This was after him trying to sell me on all these other services I had no interest in, just focus on the task at hand! I told him no and he said he would remove the $90 “trip charge” (what a ripoff and I told the representative when I called to make the appointment I would not pay any sort of fee for an estimate or trip charge). I still told him that was high and could he come down closer to $75 as that is the most I would pay for such little work. He then complained that he drove over an hour to get to my house and he can’t do it for that low of an amount, and then ended our interaction with “but please keep us in mind for any of your future electrical needs or if you have any issues”. Hahahahahha so you refused to do the work that I called you for and think I would ever call you guys again??? He literally turned down free money to do a quick job and rather make nothing, makes zero sense since he was already there! They have permanently lost my business since I know I cannot depend on them. I have used Mister Sparky in the past even though their prices were always higher than others but I finally had to draw the line with them. Their greed over a few bucks lost them a customer, terrible business decisions and everyone should be warned this is how they operate. Stay away!!"

"Carlos came to my home to give me an estimate. His estimate was for $903 because he said that the problem was an arc that he cannot find and that he would need to rewire the whole breaker box to fix it. I told him that I would get another estimate and I left him in my garage and picked my daughter up from the bus stop. when I returned, he'd changed the breaker said it fixed the problem, the cost $100. He charged $128. the problem started again. Later that evening the breaker tripped again and I called Carlos to complain about the work and that I just want a refund.He said tomorrow he would have time call the office in order for me to get a refund. I called him and they gave me a number that was immediately giving me a busy signal and then I tried calling it four times and the call never went through. I waited 30 minutes, tried again and the phone will not even connect. I feel I got swindled and I would never recommend using them ever. i left a msg through the Angi number...crickets!!!"

"What a mistake I made in hiring Elcon. Their estimate was 25% more than my other estimate from a licensed well-reviewed electrician, but I went with Elcon because I thought hiring a large company would help ensure things went smoothly, efficiently and give me some peace of mind. Unfortunately, the result was just the opposite. There were two fairly simple jobs. The first was to install an outlet on the opposite side of drywall where there is already a switch. The electrician took out the switch where you can clearly see the other side of the wall yet he still cut right in front of the stud exposing over 4 inches of stud. Why he didn’t use a stud finder or drill a small hole first before cutting completely baffles me. He did fess up to it immediately and patched it, but never even apologized. I had to match/buy paint to match the wall and cover the patch. Next he installed a non-GFI outlet in a laundry room which is against NEC code. When I informed him that the outlet was not to code, he said their estimator didn’t put a GFI on the quote. Yet I specifically requested a GFI outlet in my email to them - both in writing AND in a photo of the job. Why neither their estimator nor their electrician followed NEC code was concerning, but he did switch the outlet eventually. The other job was to install an outdoor wired box which was clearly titled as such on the quote. When I showed the electrician where the box was to be installed, he said he didn’t have a box with him. How he did not have one of only two fixtures needed for the job is beyond me. Also, instead of going to get the box before starting the job, he did it after the wires were threaded and exposed. He was gone for 40 minutes when there is a Lowes right next door to me. If it had rained, all of my entire pool wiring (which he wired up to) would have gotten wet. I paid him in full and contacted their office via email to explain what happened. Their office manager did apologize, but her unhelpful solution to my wasted time and extra money I had spent to paint was to schedule more time with me so their estimator could “spot check” the electrician’s work. Now, not only does their lack of trust in their own electrician make me worry about the completed install, but this would have been the third time I had to take time away from work and for their convenience. This is because instead of using the detailed request and photos I sent them of the job, the estimator still wanted to see it in person. And when the estimator arrived, he asked questions that were already in my request and took the same photos I already sent. When I finally pointed out that it was all in my request and photos, he then looked and was surprised it was all already there. Thankfully, I only scheduled Elcon for two of the four jobs they estimated for me. I was going to schedule those at a later date but after this experience, I decided to hire another company for the remaining jobs and will be sure to have them check all of Elcon’s work."

The second note of compliments go to Erica and Rick for the exemplary work they did last week when installing the new engine in our generator. They toiled for a number of hours in a very cramped place and showed unusual team spirit during that time. I marveled how cautious they were when disassembling the old engine, keeping copious track of every screw, bolt and nut they touched. When the job was completed, every screw, bolt and nut and been replaced in their original location. It was obvious that Rick had performed this procedure before, but Erica was right alongside him working diligently and confidently as well. Since I am a strong advocate of team relationships, it was a pleasure seeing the two of them working together harmoniously. Please forward this note to your top management as I we, as customers, were most satisfied with the professionalism the three of you displayed as you worked through this unusual situation.
