When scheduled for installation, they were a little late in arriving, and there were about 3 young men who came in to install, seal, etc. We were there when the pieces were installed. We had contractors who were installing the remaining cabinetry at the same time. We did not live in the house while the project was underway. We were there when something was being delivered, and lived else where so that our contractors could do their job in 3 months. They had to return back the following day as they had to redo one end piece. Unfortunately we were not present during the delivery and installation of that end piece. We were advised when the template was being measured, that the granite was going to be installed in one piece. It ended up being cut near the sink area, but it ended up being shimmied underneath the sink with wood showing under the sink. (We did not notice this until after the final project was completed, and we were moving everything back in). With the quartz, they claimed that we would not need sealing. We did not go around the cabinets (after installation) to investigate anything wrong since we did not find any reason to look. Yes, we were admiring the beauty of the granite and quartz. Not looking at what the installers did to our cabinetry when they apparently applied too much glue on our cabinets, and the aftermath mess. It was after we moved back in, blinds up, afternoon sunshine coming in, and placing things in our cabinets, we realized that there was an overspray on the entire 5' panel of our island. We did not notice this until after the fact since there is a 12" overhang. We never thought to look under a 12" overhang for a problem. Where the bar stools slide in, you have a "right" leg. You can tell where they added too much glue, and it dripped down the cabinet. They sprayed aiming for this "right" leg, and unfortunately the "spray" went to the panel where the 12" overhang is. It's very obvious they they oversprayed, and did not spray on the cloth. Unfortunately we did not see this the morning they installed as the sun was not coming in. Plus, we were admiring the beauty of the big piece of quartz (5x 7')! However, again, when we moved in permanently, with the blinds up, and around 2pm, the sun was shining, and we noticed the mess the installers created on our beautiful cabinetry. When we requested to know what they used since we provided them 3 pictures of the installation with their spray bottle on the quartz. They stated that "the installers said they did not do that to the cabinet. They said if they did they would have certainly said something because they wouldn?t do that first because its not right and second because of how noticeable it is." If this was a professional and reputable company, the owner would visit, look at the damage, to assess the situation, and admit the mistake, NOT deny. Unfortunately for us, it was in poor judgment to choose this company to buy and install our granite. Every part of our project was successful except for the fact that now our cabinet is ruined. With the beautiful quartz, there seems to be a mark in the middle...almost like a small L shaped--almost like tape was stuck to the countertop. We actually believe since we have pictures of this installation (including a bottle of spray on the quartz!), and something else that had to have had a chemical on, since the mark is there for good. Almost no gloss on one spot. Again, unless you are LOOKING for something, you wouldn't notice anything. Why would we look under a 12" overhang since we trusted a company to install countertops? Or, who would have known that you have to take a look upside down, kneeling, with a flashlight before the installers leave. Buyer beware. No matter if you are not living in your house while the project is underway, look at the ceiling, as you apparently have to look as to where the spray goes, and if you don't, well SHAME ON YOU. You missed your opportunity, and personally, we believe, we would have just been advised that the installers said they did not do that! Glue drips, spray etching on the furniture to remove the glue. They literally "sprayed" and "aimed" to the glue area, but unfortunately etched our entire side of the cabinet. Unfortunately this can not be removed unless we go through "sanding" the entire island (gorgeous brand new furniture), and have it repainted. No apologies...just denial. It's truly ashame that the owner can not admit their mistake. Mistakes happen, yes. Admitting would be nice. The owner to assess would have been ideal. However, we assume that he would just say that we should have seen it when this was installed."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/pa/philadelphia/imperial-marble-and-granite-reviews-6306747.htm"},"position":8},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"Phyllis's Cleaning Service","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"DE","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Terry Q."},"reviewBody":"
When I went around checking progress after several HOURS of supposed hard work in kitchen, bathrooms, etc, I could still pick up dirt and grit on my hand on everything that had supposedly been thoroughly cleaned (for example - desk, bookcases, inside kitchen cabinets and drawers). When I pointed this out to Phyllis, it was "oh I cleaned that with furniture polish and not a damp rag, let me do it again." There was dust and drinking mug type rings on every wood surface that had been cleaned. Again when I pointed this out or just cleaned it myself it was easily done in seconds. I would say the only rooms that were done well were the bathrooms
I asked to have the empty fridge wiped out as it had some crumbs and stains inside. It wasn't filthy but I want to start out a move into a new place with nicely cleaned appliances, WHICH IS WHY I AM PAYING SOMEONE. It should take no more than 10 minutes to do an empty fridge thoroughly and well. When I asked for this, I got the response "well it already looks clean so why do I have to clean this?" Complain complain.
And so on and so on.
I am not sure what I paid for except a light cleaning, most of which I am redoing myself and then hiring another service to do all over again. These are nice ladies but they don't want to work very hard at all. I have had house cleaning services working for me for 20 years and I just expect reasonable service. I would never hire this service again - don't understand how they have an overall "A" rating.

"We were in the process of renovating our apartment and needed to apply for permits from the government, which required an architect-signed design drawing. Anthony came highly recommended. He took the time to visit our apartment and carefully understand the challenges we faced in obtaining the permits. After thoroughly reviewing the space and listening to our renovation ideas, he assured us that the project would be straightforward for him and that he could provide an architectural drawing that would not only meet our needs but also ensure we could pass inspection without any issues. Despite the project being relatively small, Anthony was more than willing to take it on and offered a very reasonable fee for his services. We truly appreciate the time, care, and professionalism he brought to the table. We would highly recommend Anthony to anyone looking for an architect who is knowledgeable, approachable, and dedicated to delivering great work."

"We can't express enough our genuine gratitude on the awesome job Mike and Nick did refacing numerous 7 yr. old painted cabinets. Totally unbelievable! They refaced all the kitchen cabinets up to our ceilings. Made legs for our granite kitchen table along with other custom things my husband wanted and refaced a powder room cabinet to the ceiling. The guest bathroom was also refaced. Finally, my bathroom was completely transformed. They added shelves to an enormous to the ceiling quadruple linen closet. Heightened and customized a large countertop, installed a larger sink plus added 2 additional drawers to my existing 4 drawers. Useless space under the sink, they put in a huge slide-in drawer. They can and will make anything you need or want and absolutely go above and beyond. Mike, Nick and Cheryl are extremely professional, personable and accommodating. We admire their super strong work ethic (never late and minutes for a lunch break). Always respectful and then hustled to finish a days work with smiles on their faces. I wish you could see all the work they did. They deserve 10 stars and the wait was well worth it--trust me. They were meticulous. Perfection at the highest level!!!! All this work was done in 4 days. Money very well spent and prices very reasonable. We trust and highly recommend them and the company (American Kitchen Refacing Inc.) they are affiliated with. Everyone deserves a promotion plus a bonus for ALL they can do."

"Great work, highly recommended!! Apex renovated all of the bathrooms in our home down to the studs and completely redid them for us, one of which included moving a wall and layout change to expand. From beginning to end, Mike and his team were a pleasure to work with. We received detailed cost estimates that were accurate and competitive with other contractors we spoke to. The level of protection that was installed was top notch. We did not have any dust in areas outside of the work area and Mike and his team were always careful to clean and keep the protection clean which was fantastic. The quality of the work was excellent, I couldn’t find a single issue when work was complete. Mike did a great job communicating with us on decisions we had to make and the schedule for the work throughout the project. We love the result of our bathrooms and had a great experience working with Apex!"

We are proud to offer the same quality and craftsmanship as many of the larger bathroom remodeling companies at a lower price and without sacrificing customer satisfaction. First State Bath is owned and operated by Mike Tate and Joe Augustine, who together have over twenty-eight years of bathroom remodeling experience, with over 3,000 bathroom renovations sold and completed
"I hired First State Bath for converting a bath tub to a walk-in shower. I feel so thankful to them from introduction through job completing. They listened carfully to my requests and proposed a small suggestion, but it turned out very special to my need. It was choice of 54" long instead of 60". It adds space for easy moving in the bathroom. It might have no impact to most people, but is very helpful and special in my situation. The project is worked out very well with on time, clean and high quality. They did great job at very reasonable cost."

The cost to refinish cabinets is $3,000 on average. However, this cost can range from $700 to $6,000, depending on the size and location of the cabinets, the refinishing method, and number of cabinets.

As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
The best time of year to remodel your home is late winter and early spring when fewer homeowners are thinking about projects and pros are more available. Also consider the type of remodel you want and plan ahead as much as possible. For example, the summer is a great time of year to update your fireplace, but winter is a better option for fixing foundations and building room additions.
