"Orbit was a pleasure to deal with. They gave us an exact time they would be here for both appointments instead of giving us a window of time, which is hard to find these days. On top of that, they were on time or early each time. Justin did a wonderful job explaining the benefits, and the install team were in and out in no time. We got a softener, filtration system, and alkaline drinking water system. We couldn't be happier, and wish we would have done this sooner. A+ business!"

"It went very well.  Howard did a neat, careful job installing the doorknob/lock set on our back door.  He took the coat rack to his place to stain and finish it for us, then returned it a few days later.  It came out great!  We'd use Howard again if we have any other projects.

"Very good, almost great. The install team arrived on time, confirmed work order & started the job. In about 4.5 hrs, power was applied & we started to get heat. A quick overview of the HAVC system was given, balance paid all questions answered and there were smiles on most faces. The sales person described the operation of the new HAVC to be quieter than current system and it is. However, the term quieter was not expressed in db difference so a service tech came out and was able to discuss the issue. The whole evolution was a positive event and we will gladly refer Orbit Energy & Power LLC, as a HAVC company that I will work with again."

"The hot water was leaking, then running, and could not be turned off. I called on a Thursday, and spoke to the scheduler, who asked a plumber to speak to me to get the details of my issue. They worked together to schedule a time the next day for him to come out and look. A two hour window was given, and he was well within the time frame when he arrived. He was very polite, even when my dog was not. I showed him the tub, and then the access panel. He explained what would need to be done, and provided and estimate in writing. He called the scheduler and obtained an appointment for me for the following Monday at 9 am.
To my surprise, he showed up with another technician an 8:36 Monday morning. They went right to work. It was determined that this was only a one man job, so the 2nd tech left. After a few hours, I was asked to inspect the work. The tub looked fantastic, with brand new fixtures and only about an inch of the cuts in the tile showing. The area had been cleaned up. The access panel in the bedroom also had been cleaned up and he explained the cut-off valves and how they worked. He said he couldn't repair the area cut out of the wall to work on the area behind the tub, but that I could go to the hardware store and purchase an 8x8' panel to fit the spot, which would make it easier to perform future repairs. The area had been vacuumed and he put the furniture back into place. He asked me to sign the paperwork and took my check, thanked me and asked that I call with any questions. He wished me a good day and left.
I was happy with they installation, not so much with the hole left in my wall. Since I did not shop for any further bids, I don't know how competitive the price is. The service and punctuality were excellent."

Solar Panels questions, answered by experts

Learn about common solar blockers in your area to determine how often you should wash solar panels and the best cleaning method:

  • Soot: If you have a fireplace, soot can disperse and accumulate on the solar panels.

  • Debris, dirt, and leaves: These natural elements require light cleaning. Being close to trees or living in a desert area can cause more of these to accumulate.

  • Pollen: Areas with a high pollen count require more frequent solar panel cleaning, and sticky plant material requires a deeper cleaning.

  • Bird droppings: Bird droppings are binding and more difficult to remove. Keep this in mind if you live near a lot of surrounding trees.

Yes, it is possible to install solar panels on a tar and gravel roof, but it is not the ideal roofing material for a solar installation. The process requires roof penetrations to install the solar racking system. While installers will seal these penetrations, they still increase the risk of leaks. This risk is higher on tar and gravel roofs, which are often flat. Flat roofs are more prone to leaks than sloped roofs because they can pool water during heavy rain and hold snow for longer periods, exposing the roof to more moisture.

Solar shingles typically last between 20 and 30 years, a lifespan comparable to that of traditional solar panels and standard asphalt shingles. The exact duration depends on the manufacturer and the quality of the installation. Because solar shingles are a newer technology, there is limited data on their actual long-term performance. Factors that can impact their durability and longevity include weather conditions, roof ventilation, and regular maintenance. To extend the life of your solar shingles, you should conduct regular inspections and cleaning, and make any necessary repairs as quickly as possible.

Solar batteries can be a great investment to help maximize your solar savings and make your system and home more valuable, but they’re most beneficial to customers who don’t have access to net metering. If your state or energy provider doesn’t provide net metering, batteries can be a great way to offset consumption even when your panels aren’t producing power. They also come with the added benefit of providing electricity through blackouts, so they’re valuable in areas prone to severe weather that could cause frequent blackouts. Your installer can help you decide if batteries are worthwhile.

Installing solar panels involves drilling small holes in your roof to secure the solar panel mounting brackets. These brackets hold the solar panels in place and must withstand strong weather conditions so they’re secured into your roof. However, holes and screws are sealed to prevent leaking and further damage.
