"We have an old house (100+ years old). I called Atomic Rooter to fix a bad clog and reconnect drain pipes. They responded quickly, came the next day (as agreed), on time, professional, clean and upfront price. For plumbing services, I think they were very reasonable. Larry and his assistant were great. I will use them again."

"Very prompt, professional and honest. This has been the best subcontractor I have had in my home in a long time. I worked in the building industry for 20+ yrs, these men go way beyond most. Neat, clean and I could go on but you will see for yourself. Thanks again. Charlene"

"Inspection and work performed was extremely thorough, well communicated throughout the job so I could understand the status and look to the future of our units. He also allowed me the opportunity to look at what he had done, and what the duct cleaning company had or had not done. Specialist (Dennis) offered me a very reasonable service plan for the season that seemed very good value and which I paid for."

Drain Cleaning questions, answered by experts

A clogged air gap can cause a dishwasher not to drain. There are, however, other potential issues that can lead to improper drainage. For example, if you have attached the air gap to a garbage disposal and forgotten to remove the knockout plug, wastewater may backflow into the dishwasher. Check that the air gap is installed properly, and then look for clogs in the air gap and dishwasher filters.

Start by unscrewing the overflow valve, which is located on the wall of your tub between the floor drain and the tub spout. Gently insert a plumbing snake down into the pipe, move it back and forth, and pull it out. Remove any hair, debris, and soap scum that comes out with it. Repeat the process until the snake comes out clean, and then reinstall the cap on your overflow valve.

Usually it’s fine to leave a toilet clogged overnight, as long as it’s not close to overflowing. In some cases, the extra time may give the clog time to work itself out. For example, if it’s caused by an excess of toilet paper, letting it sit could result in the clog dissolving and you may be able to simply flush it away by the time you wake up.

Only let it sit though if you have more than one toilet in the home.

A professional drain cleaner is a plumber or specialized drain cleaner with the necessary tools to unclog drains and tiles to keep waste water flowing out to the septic tank or city sewer for processing. Keeping wastewater from backing up into your home helps keep you and your family safe from potential contamination and sickness. These pros can help resolve nearly any drain situation in a safe and efficient manner.

Food grease, soap buildup, paper products, and tree roots often cause serious clogs.
