Small jobs welcome

"Sando is the best, he replaced three bathroom counter tops for me. He removed all of the old counters and my new ones are outstanding. I had many choices of slabs to pick from and the quality of the stone is superb. Sando is very patient and meticulously neat. He was on time and went out of the way for me to measure and install my last countertop because I had a problem with my cabinets. I will have another job coming up soon and he will be my first call. Thanks Sando"

"Nikki did a great job working with me to get just the right slab. Bill proved things fairly. They were on time and followed up with the punch it I had. Unfortunately, my new sink was scratched during installation and they came back out to try to buff it out but only made it worse. I contacted them about it but never heard back from them yet. Prior to that, I would say they were 4.5 to 5 stars."

"very well, the service person ( Pete) did a fantastic job. This man does not take a break. I had to keep telling him to stop. Good luck finding that these days. Thanks Pete. The owner Rod Carnes explained what will take place and to the tee took place. He spends the time with you and shows photos of completed jobs, very professional."

"Ben just installed my granite countertop today and it is beautiful! The quality of their work is apparent. I did lots of research, and Celtic granite was the first to respond with a bid, gave me the lowest price, and had the most color options. Ben stayed in touch with me regularly to answer my questions and talk about my options. He made sure to schedule my template and install as soon as I was ready. I could not be happier with their service and would recommend this company again and again!"

Countertops and Backsplashes questions, answered by experts

Laminate countertops can last between 10 and 30 years, though a more common estimate is 10 to 15 years. The exact lifespan depends heavily on usage and how well they are maintained. Because they are a budget-friendly option, they are more prone to scorching and scratches than other materials. You can extend their lifespan with daily maintenance using a soft cleaner and regular sealing.

There are many differences between solid surface and quartz countertops. Whether one is as good as the other will depend on what you value most in a counter. These two materials are nonporous, although quartz is more durable. Some people may prefer the look of quartz, although they’re both available in many different colors and designs.

Formica is a brand of laminate, so all Formica is laminate, but not all laminate is Formica. To identify it, look for a thin, plastic-like surface bonded to a wood or particleboard base. Formica often has branding on the underside. If you don’t see Formica, it could be Wilsonart, another familiar laminate brand. If the countertop is unique, you can visit the Formica site to find a match. Formica is known for creative collaborations that lead to unique design offerings.

The minimum counter depth for a kitchen island is around the same as for a standard kitchen countertop, which is around 25 to 26 inches. This depth allows adequate room for food preparation, dining, and working on the island. However, as with other kitchen countertops, depth can vary based on specific needs and preferences in your household.

One of the best ways to use bar-height countertops is as a divider. If you have an open concept home, this can visually separate your kitchen from your living space. This countertop is also ideal for entertaining. You can cook in your kitchen, while your guests can sit at the island and be at a similar level.
