"Exceedingly STELLAR work; BEYOND professional decorum elicited by the company’s OWNER AND staff MEMBERS (specifically the technicians that performed the installation). Overall, we HIGHLY recommend this company to neighbors, family, friends, coworkers & even strangers in our community that may be in need of any HVAC or others services for their homes and/or businesses. Financially, they were on par with our anticipated costs for the work we needed done. FAST, QUALITY WORK that we’d NEVER hesitate calling on again for any future needs that this EXCEPTIONAL, ‘5-star worthy’ company provides! Thank you especially to Ron, Carlos and Brandan… we truly enjoyed meeting you and the pleasure of your company while you worked diligently in our home was all ours. Perhaps this review seems “over the top”or contrived, but we truly wanted to reward this company properly with a review that sufficiently and congruently matched their “talk with the walk” behavior. As you (a co-consumer) know there are so few these days that that elicit good, old- fashioned business ethics. We want you to know this was honestly a job TRULY well done!"

"Very knowledgeable owner-operator. Prompt and personable. He repaired our 30-year-old central ac unit and did not try to upsell us to a new one. He was very thorough in his inspection of our system. I will use him again when we decide to replace our ac."

"I wanted to clean a second floor dryer vent hose that was loaded solid with lint. It was worse than I thought! Packed solid! It became evident that this was a messy and dangerous situation as it was a fire hazard. Through Angi I found Everclean and the co. was a perfect fit. HVAC companies don’t do dryer vents. Justin from Everclean was awesome and got the problem straightened out. He even discovered the dryer vent had become disconnected from outside dryer vent door! I can’t fit through the narrow attic hatchway as my shoulders are a bit too wide, so I depended on Justin. Finally, everything is buttoned up, and our clothes now dry in half the time. Cost was moderate and was money well invested. Dryer vent fire danger is now negligible compared to before. Along with neighbor hatred danger. I would hire Everclean again if needed again."

"I needed an HVAC company for both my heat pumps. for house and garage shop. I looked on Homeadvisor and found Bill Aitken Heating. Thank you Homeadvisor! Bill was not only professional, but friendly and courteous. He explained everything he was doing right down to how the newest equipment he used. Bill was very thorough checking out my HVAC system. I will need to look no further for a contractor due to Bill's excellent work. I highly recommend Bill."

"I turned to finding a dryer vent contractor on this website when I was unsuccessful in finding one through Google. Either the company didn t call back or didn t show up. My current HVAC contractor stopped cleaning dryer vents. When I began the search, it was very late at night. Y&M Airduct Service phoned me the very next morning. They were rated very well and see why. They are honest and explain everything in detail. There were a few things I knew that needed to be addressed, such as the attachment to the hose behind the dryer and the vent that had been broken to the outside of the house. Everything has been fixed and/or replaced at a very reasonable rate. Not only was this experience very positive but have decided to not renew my contract with my exiting company that I ve had for over 10 years. I will be having Y&M perform all of my HVAC needs. If you decide to hire Y&M Airduct Service, you will have everything done right the first time. No hidden agenda, no hassle and piece of mind knowing one less item is taken care of."

"Seems the basic cleaning does not work well for my situation. Noticed lots of loose dust ball around opening of vents right after service is done. The promotion price is good. But feel the work to replace missing dryer cap is expensive. Technicians are helpful and knowledgeable."

"Juan at OMNI was super responsive and extremely professional. He communicated all the actions taken and what needed to be corrected. He went out of the way to make sure we fully comprehended what was done with our furnace and thermostat. Would recommend OMNI one because of Juan's service, but two because of their response time and support. Thank you! Scott V. - Wallingford, CT."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can put an AC unit on the roof of your home or commercial building. For proper installation, you’ll need to ensure the roof surface is flat, it’s accessible for maintenance and cleaning, and an AC installation pro agreed that your home is a candidate for package units. Don’t forget to consider the climate in your area, as homes that experience frequent tropical storms or hurricanes may not benefit from this type of system.

You should use a breathable, weather-resistant cover with ventilation. It can be a top cover or a full cover that has mesh to allow airflow. A full, non-breathable cover can cause moisture to build up, leading to rust, frozen parts, and corrosion. A full cover also attracts unwanted critters, such as mice, that can damage the wiring and your unit. If you need to protect your AC unit from falling icicles, choose a sturdy top cover or piece of wood that prevents icicles from damaging your unit.

No. Evaporator coils are designed to work with specific refrigerant types, and they are rated by what kinds of refrigerant they use. It’s indicated with an “R” code. It’s important to match your evaporator coil and refrigerant or your system will not work properly. An AC technician can tell you what type of refrigerant your system needs and what evaporator coils will work with it.

The cost to replace an AC evaporator coil is typically between $600 and $2,500, with an average cost around $1,300 to $1,350. The price of the coil itself can range from $550 to $1,100, depending on the brand, size, and style, with professional labor adding around $700. Replacing a condenser coil is generally less expensive, costing about $800. Because this repair involves handling refrigerants, it requires a licensed AC professional. Regular inspections, which cost between $200 and $600, can help prevent costly coil replacements.

You can run an HRV with air conditioning—assuming that you decide to keep the system on during the summer. The HRV will continue to bring in fresh outdoor air, which will then flow into your AC unit and cool down your home. It will also keep moving the stuffy indoor air out of your house.
