"Jorge did a fantastic job for us; I would highly recommend him for drain clearing services. We had another national franchise sewer/drain cleaning company come in first to look at our clogged mainline drain. This "reputable" franchise wanted to charge me over $13,000 to clear debris and roots from the line and install a sewer liner. I came to Angi to find other professionals for a second opinion and after speaking with Jorge had him come give me a free estimate. Before he did anything, he put out blankets and buckets to protect my property. He then opened the drain, used a camera to view the entire length of the drain, and concluded we only needed to shave out roots that were blocking the flow down the drain. Two others confirmed the same. Jorge quoted us a reasonable price. We booked him the next day. Jorge showed up on time, did the same protective prep work, and completed the agreed upon shaving of the roots. Afterwards he took more video to show us the now cleared drain. 5 star"

"Of all things you don't want to happen on a Sunday afternoon, your sewer line backing up has to top the list. Well that what happened to me today. Ugh. Since I was away from a computer and didn't have time to research service providers on Angie's List, I reached for my trusty yellow pages and called several companies to find out how much this problem was going to set me back. The first few calls I made were very discouraging, with quotes ranging from $425-$600+!! Not what I wanted to hear! Then I turned the page and found a nice looking ad from a company called All-Star Rooter and decided to make one last call. Boy was I glad I did. Rather than get an answering machine or message service, Bryan (the owner) answered the phone and told me the price would be from $235-$285 (depending upon how many feet my house is back from the street) and that he could be over right after he finished up his current job - in about an hour. Music to my ears! Not only did he show up as promised, he quickly identified the problem and cleared the line. Within an hour, my problem was resolved and my bank account NOT depleted! Bryan is just starting out on his own (after working for others for many years) so his prices are extremely reasonable. But that doesn't mean his work isn't high quality! He was prompt, professional, friendly, neat, insured and extremely knowledgeable and experienced. Plus, he gave me a 30-day guarantee. Totally top-rate service at affordable rates. He was a true lifesaver and I highly recommend him for any problems you may have with clogged drains or sewers."

"Our basement has a huge sloping rock in it-the foundation was built around it when the house was built in the 50's. Over the past 5-6 years, water has seeped in more and more at the top of the rock where it meets the ground right next to the foundation and rolled down the rock to the cellar floor, threatening to flow over to the finished side of the basement. First we put a new drainage system outside the house but that did not help. Five years ago we had another basement company come and they told us all we would need is a dehumidifier and that would dry up the water. We bought their big dehumidifier but nope, that did not make a dent in it, it has just gotten worse each year. I called CT Basement Systems late last fall and a very, very nice representative came, looked at the rock and the water flowing down it and was confident their system would take care of the problem. I have a friend that used them for water in her basement and she has raved about them and has never had a drop of water since her system was installed. I paid the deposit and the technicians came exactly when they said they would. They did a great job, were very professional and left the cellar area very clean in spite of all the dust that must have been generated by the jackhammering. I am very happy with the job they did. However, there has been one unexpected problem. Before the drain was put in, I had been buying absorbent socks, flood bags and all kinds of things to soak up the water. Now we just let the water course down the rock into the drain guard, which then funnels it to the sump. We discovered that some of the water drains down to our brick chimney, which abuts the big rock . Instead of continuing it's flow down the rock to the drain, some water is soaking into the gravel around the chimney and then coming out on the other side, where there is no drain guard, making puddles on the floor again. We think the rock needs a thin lip of cement to direct the flow down and away from the chimney area. So, I called the salesman. No call back. I emailed him. No reply. I called and left another message but nothing. I called the company and asked if they would give him a message to call me. No response. So, I can only surmise that they are completely uninterested in this, now that the job is done. I now have a mason coming to do the cement. It is too bad, because I was so impressed with the salesman when he came and also with the installers. I would recommend the product and the installation service beyond a shadow of a doubt. But the lack of customer service after the fact is a huge disappointment. I actually do not mind having our own mason come and do the job. If they had called me back, I would have told them that- I really just wanted to get their opinion on the problem. But they apparently just don't want to be bothered."

"Dean and his crew were professional, reliable, extremely neat/clean and went above and beyond, often, to make the sure work was completed to my satisfaction. They did small things not even required to make sure the entire basement area was much more than even expected. The basement has never been so dry in the 40 years I have lived here. I would hire them again in a heartbeat."

Storm Drain Installation questions, answered by experts

While sometimes used interchangeably, screen doors and storm doors have key differences. Screen doors are simple structures, typically composed of just a frame and a screen, designed to keep out bugs while allowing air circulation. In contrast, storm doors are heavier and more complex, built to protect your home's main entry door from weather and intruders. They usually feature an aluminum frame with interchangeable tempered glass and screen panels, allowing you to switch between ventilation and insulation. A storm door offers more protection and versatility but generally costs more than a basic screen door.

Yes, installing or replacing a storm door is a manageable DIY project, especially for those with experience replacing regular doors. Many modern storm doors feature simple, pre-hung designs and come with the necessary hardware, making installation more convenient. With basic tools, a DIY installation is possible, though professional services can ensure proper alignment and weatherproofing. On average, installing a pre-hung storm door takes about four hours.

Yes, professional installers use weather-resistant materials to protect the dish and cabling from environmental damage.

Yes, modular homes are typically safe for areas prone to hurricanes. In regions at risk of severe storms, local zoning guidelines often require that these dwellings be built using materials designed to endure strong winds and heavy rainfall, ensuring they meet the safety standards for such conditions.

The average cost to install a door is around $1,100, but you could pay anywhere from $150 for a hollow-core interior door installation up to $2,000 or a high-end exterior door installation. There are a few cost factors to consider to get an accurate price, including whether your wall opening exists, the type of door, the quality and security of the door, whether you need to replace the frame, and the door size. You can expect to pay $150 to $700 for a standard 36-by-80-inch door and between $400 and $1,600 for an 80-by-48-inch door.
