"The gentleman who came to my home were absolutely great! Explained everything and made sure I was happy with the work every step of the way. I was nervous in the beginning but my fear subsided after Robert Charlesworth, Marcelo largo, Isaiah belcher and Johnathon Lopez made for a great experience. The attention to detail and dust control, tapping off areas they felt I wouldn’t want getting dusty exceeded my expectations! Thank you for your hard work and kindness. Trucks looked awesome new as well as tools and equipment. Great job guys!!"

"Absolutely love it!!! We replaced tub curtains with sliding glass doors. Work and quality are superb. It looks gorgeous. The price was very reasonable. Jose from Glazier helped us with the customization and design of our doors, explained everything in detail. We are very grateful to him and his crew; they are very professional. I will be remodeling another bathroom, and I am defenetly calling Jose from Glazier for my next project. Thanks Glazier, my bathtub looks amazing!!!"

"Victor was very professional and great to deal. He brought samples of the material they use, explained their process, prices and warranty in detail. He returned to discuss additional questions and even did better on the price. While Yankee was not the lowest quote we got, they were competitive and took the time to answer all of our questions and had actual samples of the siding they use. I will update this review when we have the actual work done with pictures. So far we are very comfortable with them."

"Their design service was extremely helpful in allowing us to see detailed drawings of the room and side elevations of our home after the addition.  Everyone who worked on our project were professional and skilled at their trades.  Our project involved just about every aspect of home remodeling - design, framing, roofing, electrical, plumbing, sheetrock, painting, tile and custom woodworking (custom bench/cubbies and wainscoting).
While theirs not the lowest bid we received, I believe the money was well spent.  It's been nearly six months since the work has completed and we've had no problems with the work (in fact, I've had them do additional projects around the house).  In that time, we've experienced several storms and were side-swiped by a hurricane.  The work held up perfectly and we've had no adverse impacts.
I have only two negatives regarding this effort.  First, the project took exactly twice as long as originally estimated (I shouldn't be surprised, but ...).  Finally, the guy who did the tile floor was not as skilled as I would have liked.  The tiles are not precisely aligned and he should have changed blades in his wet saw half way through the work.  We used an intricate pattern so that every tile needed to be cut.  The first tiles are cut cleanly, but the last several rows have jagged cuts.
Regardless, I am extremely pleased with the outcome of this project and would recommend them for any variety of home remodeling work.

Egress Windows questions, answered by experts

The average cost to install an egress window is approximately $3,900, with a typical range between $2,500 and $5,300, though costs can be higher. The final price is influenced by several factors, including the window's size, type, material, and glass quality. Other variables include labor costs, location, excavation needs, and whether permits or a structural engineer consultation are required. The price of the window itself often depends on the number of panes:

  • Single-pane: $100–$400

  • Double-pane: $200–$500

  • Triple-pane: $300–$800

Additional features like window wells or covers will also increase the total project cost. It is advisable to obtain multiple quotes from professionals to get a comprehensive understanding of the expenses for your specific project.

There are a few ways to save money on egress window installation. First, choosing pre-fabricated windows instead of custom windows can help dramatically reduce the overall cost. In addition, skipping window extras, like customized frames or window film, can help save money on the price tag without sacrificing the window itself. You should also shop around to multiple window installers to find the best installation deal without sacrificing the quality of the window.

Installing a window well costs anywhere from $500 to $1,500 or more. Adding an egress window and well runs about $3,900 on average. Adding a window well cover to the project can add $200 to $700. A well cover helps protect your egress windows from weather damage and keeps them clear of dirt, debris, and wildlife.

Yes, egress windows are grandfathered. However, this comes with some specifications. If you are remodeling a basement or adding a sleeping area, you’ll need to update the egress windows to be up to proper code. But, if you’re leaving your home as is, you do not have to adhere to these requirements.

Most modern egress windows installed in basements open outward into a window well, although some older homes have in-swing windows. Egress windows, like casement windows used in other parts of the home, such as bedrooms and bathrooms, may open inward, and these windows are often larger than outward-opening windows.
