NORWALK - Owner/Operated Bathtub Refinishing Servicing Fairfield County and surrounding areas. I Clean tubs too. Sometimes just a professional cleaning is all you need. BBB. Rated A+ 0 complaints. I take care of tubs for Norwalk housing. Bender & Mr Shower door in Norwalk refer to me. I do the work myself. I schedule just your refinishing for the day. Not rushing your tub to get to another or showing up late in day tired doing sloppy work. In business since 2005 and specialize only in refinishing and/or cleaning tubs, slip resistant bottoms and chip repairs. I use very good bonding agents with Florescent additive. I then turn lights off and shine black light on tub. This shows where I missed spots applying it. This is key because the bonding agent is what makes the topcoat stick. Missed areas can cause failures. Every single time no matter how careful I am, when I shine that black light it shows me where it needs more. This black light also shows up little bits of dirt that could of ended up in the finish. Ct Lic #611303 Free Slip Resistant bottom with paid refinishing of tub for Angie's List customers. I also have slip resistant glue down mats for tubs that are fine with just a professional cleaning but may have issues on bottom of tub. Saving you $$. I also do repairs around drains and chip repairs. It's not always necessary to refinish the tub. There's actually a lot of times where I'll strip off a DIY kit and address an issue such as mineral deposits or worn drain area leaving original porcelain when I can and for less money than a full refinish. A lot of times people hire me to refinish the tub but by the time I'm done cleaning it they are happy with that. Of course this is if color of tub was not an issue. Even with a full refinish it's still a lot less money than a plastic liner which can collect water between tub n liner which I hear costs approx $2000 for just the tub. Am I the cheapest. No! Being a legit business, using good products, refinishing just your tub for the day does cost more than the low balling speedballs. I take on average 4 or 5 hour. I've heard guys talking how they are in n out in an hour. Even one guy saying 45 minutes. I can only imagine the shortcuts that are being taken to be in n out in 45 minutes. Sure you could hire someone for less but, do you want to deal with issues shortly down the road then trying to get this person back from out of state if he's even still in business. I'm locally based out of Norwalk. I've lived here since 1964. Been refinishing since 2005. I worked corporate in IT for a multi-billion dollar corporation for 22 years prior to 2005. They relocated to Texas and we decided to stay here where our family is. So I decided to go into business for myself and here I am.

"Gary from Bathtub Rx is a true professional. I received a return call within the hour and after reviewing a few photographs of my tub, I was quoted a very reasonable price for the work. He followed up with clear instructions about what was needed on the day of the work. On the big day, Gary arrived on time and began to prepare the tub for re-surfacing. (My tub had been re-surfaced 25+ years ago by a previous owner and at this point much of the "paint" had chipped away. It looked terrible.) Gary's expert and very thorough prep work revealed an original porcelain tub that was actually in good shape. It is at this point where Gary's professionalism and integrity shone through. Instead of continuing the job as originally planned, Gary gave me the option of leaving the old porcelain tub in its natural state at half the cost of the original quote. How nice is that!! He easily could have continued the job as planned, collected the full fee, and we would never have guessed that there was a much better option. I can recommend Bathtubrx without reservation. Just a great experience from beginning to end. I love my "NEW/OLD" porcelain tub! Thank you, Gary."

"It was a pleasure working with Jim to renovate our full bathroom and we are very happy with the results. Almost everything in the bathroom was original to our 1952 home, including the pipes in the basement so it was a big job that included demolition, pipe replacement, new floorboards, tiling, sheet rock, new recessed lights, fan installation, custom vanity installation (cabinet and counter top by contractors Jim recommended), plumbing installations, etc. I had never gone through a renovation before but I had full confidence that Jim was going to do right in advising us on each detail in the process, including recommending vendors he had relationships with. He was there every day from start to finish and the job was completed on time and on budget which was much appreciated since we were without a shower during the renovation. Jim has been doing this for a long time and his experience is evident in the work he does. I would gladly hire Jim again for any other home renovations we undertake. I will post before and after pictures of the job once we get the bathroom painted!"
