Customers say: Quick response

"Mr. Serrano with USA Asbestos Removal was terrific. We learned when selling our house that there was asbestos in the mastic used on some floor tile in our basement and we had to remove it for the sale to move forward. Mr. Serrano was courteous, professional and kept us up to date, which was a great relief since we were out of state at the time. I would definitely recommend USA Asbestos Removal."

"I cannot say enough about Abide Inc. They were professional, timely and knowledgeable and do fantastic work. I had them do a quote consultation and testing for a mold issue and asbestos abatement and they were prompt to make room in their schedule to fit us in and kept every word of their agreements throughout their Process. Chris Coopee did a fantastic job reviewing reports needed plus conducting a physical inspection of the property for mold in order to produce an informed accurate quote. He also is knowledgeable about asbestos abatement and conducted some testing at the site for us. Not only did Chris do a perfect job, but he turned around the ask in a tight timeframe due to our needs related to a real estate closing. Ann at the main Abide office fielded many questions from me throughout the week and was always pleasant and helpful. I highly recommend consulting this company for any remodeling or remediation needs. This is a great company with great people. Kudos to them!"

And from the first appointment with Victor to the day of the actual removal, they all arrived when they said they would. We are happy to recommend Alberta Construction."

Asbestos Removal questions, answered by experts

If you know your popcorn ceiling has asbestos, you should not attempt to clean it. It simply is not possible to learn how to clean asbestos safely without potentially releasing microscopic fibers into the air that could lead to severe illness in the future. You are not really supposed to seal asbestos with paint, but in theory it could work—the caveat being that this is extremely dangerous and should be avoided at all costs. The only real way to seal asbestos is with the professional application of an encapsulating material like epoxy. Due to the negative effect asbestos can have on your home, however, it is usually the best course of action to accept a costly fix and remove the material entirely.

If you think you’ve touched asbestos, do not put on a mask. This is important because you may take the asbestos fibers on your hands on trap them in the mask. Make your way to a sink and wash your hands thoroughly. Remove any clothes and seal them in a bag, then take a shower. Call your doctor and let them know you’ve been exposed to asbestos, and make sure you see them as soon as possible. The reason you keep the clothes is in case anyone wants to confirm the presence of asbestos.

Asbestos has many beneficial properties, including fire resistance, strength, and chemical resistance.
