"In 2016 I hired C&R field services to install a custom 800 ft. perimiter fence around my property in Arriba, Colorado. They were on time every day, friendly to work with and kept the job clean and neat from start to finish. Rito and his crew, solved the uneven, puddling and drainage problems with their skid steer "bobcat" before they even began building my fence. They did a great job on my custom fence! This fence comprised dozens of 4", 6", 8" (x 8') round creosote treated posts, two 12" (x 20') telephone pole segments-guide wire posts for my Antenna array, built in line with my fence, alternating with steel T-posts. This was covered with 12 gage galvanized steel woven wire " no climb horse fencing", with 2" x4" rectangles, 48" tall around my perimeter for my dogs. F&R added a 14 gage, green anodized barbed wire top, looped, around the creosote posts that looks great and the barbed wire addition deters my dogs from jumping and keeps people back away from my fence. Great idea! C&R also installed four 16' vehicle gates and three 4' man-gates in my perimiter fence (also with 2"x 4" rectangles in the gate wire) and 7 amazing gate latches. Their workmanship was great. The overall job quality was excellent and their design improvement details saved me time and money. Regarding their price, what can i tell you, you get what you pay for. C& R's price did seem a bit high at first, but given the labor involved and the numerous details involved of my fences design, it was a very fair price! They completed my custom fence job in 4 (12 hour days. Begining with grading my perimiter before they set my posts , through the wire streaching and Installation, to adjusting my gate latches. Everything C&R did was done professionally, and methodically with a crew of 3. I highly recommend C& R field Services. I have used their services on several other properties since this fence job too. It's been over 6 years since C&R Field Services installed my custom perimeter fence, with no issues. Not even a sagging gate! It's January of 2022 and I still have The Best Looking Fence in Arriba Colorado, 6 years later. Thanks to C&R field services! I take great pleasure in writting this referal letter for you Mr. Garcia. If your near Arriba, please stop by and see C&R field services quality fence work, for yourself. Very Respectfully, Jeff F. Arriba Colorado"

"Both my husband and I enjoyed working with Luke. He took time to listen to what we wanted and answer questions. He even provided information that helped settle a bit of confusion we had about placement of the fence. He built the fence to be super durable against kids and kept the safety of both our children and pet in mind during the construction. I do plan on using them in the future for further home repair/renovation."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

The best under-gate dog barrier is one that extends to the ground. This effectively keeps dogs in and won't give them room to squeeze through. However, dogs that dig can still get under the barrier. Deter digging by paving the ground beneath the gate or filling it in with rocks or gravel. Be careful using wire to extend dog gates, as the sharp ends may cut or hurt your dog's paws.

Wire fences are generally the most inexpensive type of farm fence to install, especially compared to lumber. Barbed wire is one of the cheapest options due to its simple materials, making it a good choice for low budgets and for confining docile animals in large spaces. Other options include hog wire and woven wire fences, which are strong, long-lasting, and relatively easy to repair. While wire fences require less lumber and reduce overall project costs, they are often considered less aesthetically pleasing than traditional wood fences.

Typically, a fence requires one to two coats of stain. The exact number can vary depending on the porosity of the wood. For specific guidance, it's best to check the manufacturer's instructions. After applying the first coat and letting it dry completely, you can assess the finish. If it appears patchy, uneven, or you want a more saturated color, a second coat is recommended. An extra coat can also help cover lap marks.

There’s no definitive answer to this question because dog owners and experts are conflicted about the efficacy and morality of electric fences. However, physical fences are typically considered a better option since they provide guaranteed containment for your pup, provided they are tall enough, and your dog can’t dig under them. Physical fences can also provide privacy, which might stop your dog from barking at people or animals walking by. Physical dog fences tend to be more expensive, but most homeowners find them to be a better option overall.

Installing a picket fence includes measuring and marking the area where you plan to build the fence, laying out all of the materials, digging post holes, setting the posts using concrete, measuring the rails, attaching the rails, attaching the pickets, and then painting or staining the fence if you chose a wooden fence material
