"Troy and Matt did a fantastic job framing and installing custom surround for a new fireplace and prepping for the install of a barn door on the guest bathroom. TJ did a good job gutting an office and prepping and painting. I would without a drought hire them again and actually have some projects for next spring"

"They built 3 buildings for me. They were great, on time. They are there when they said they would. They are trustworthy, and they provide a well done job. Also very important the estimate they provided to me was the same at the end of the project."

Customers say: Quick response
"Very competent, honest, and knowledgeable in all areas of construction and codes - predicted issues before they came up. Came well prepared. It cost me more than I had hoped because I had not realized the change in support structure required or the complexity of the existing structure. It was still considerably cheaper than other bids and his bid was very detailed. Very good work and exhibited great care in not damaging anything else. Best carpenter I have used in Colorado and probably the best I have talked to. I would use him for anything he thinks he could handle. I trust him and his work."

Customers say: Terrific value
"Francisco Garcia did an excellent job finishing our basement. The work quality is excellent. The communication and flexibility throughout the project was excellent. The project finished on time within budget with zero surprises. Any concerns that arose were addressed expeditiously and professionally. I highly recommend Colorado Paradise Builders for your next project. The building inspections were coordinated by Colorado Paradise Builders and passed easily. We learned while talking to the inspectors that we had a gift by using Francisco as a general contractor. They mentioned other people in the business may not provide the level of customer service and professionalism which Colorado Paradise Builders demonstrated on our basement finishing project. I could not be more enthusiastic with a recommendation."

Generally, general contractors charge between $50 and $150 hourly, though not every contractor charges by the hour. If charging based on the project, you can expect a markup of 10% to 20% of the construction cost. You can expect to pay between $300 and $500 daily if charged by the day.
General contractors are the ones that coordinate home construction projects. They are in charge of the day-to-day oversight of the subcontractors to ensure that the project is completed on time and to resolve problems as they arise. General contractors:
Complete pre-construction planning, both with the customer and crew
Provide realistic cost estimates
Develop construction timelines
Ensure deadlines are met
Acquire permits as needed
Purchase supplies and materials
While city and state laws vary on general contractor licensing requirements, hiring an unlicensed general contractor could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local general contractor guidelines for your area.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
