Keenan's Plumbing & Heating, Inc. is a full service plumbing and heating company. We provide scheduled and emergency services for plumbing, forced air and boiler heat systems. We have been in business for 21 years and are active in the Montrose community. We can help you with any plumbing or heating system in your home.

"Keenan installed an air-source heat pump system in our new home in 2017. It ran OK when temps were moderate, but couldn't keep up when temps dropped below freezing. Several promises were made to remedy the situation, but they have now quit responding at all, in spite of numerous phone calls and emails. Although I initially felt they were good for their word, that now appears not to be the case. Avoid."

Sewer Cleaning questions, answered by experts

A clogged sewer line is not typically covered by homeowner’s insurance, though some sewer line issues are covered. For instance, damage related to a fallen tree is usually covered. Though sewer line replacement is not covered in a standard insurance policy, some companies offer add-ons for this purpose. Read the fine print before spending your own money.

The cost to clean a sewer line is about $370, ranging from about $190 to $550 on average. The specific cleaning method and the problem's severity will impact the project's overall cost. Some of the most common sewer line cleaning methods include:

  • Snaking or rodding: $100–$250

  • Hydrojetting: $350–$600

  • Chemical treatments: $600–$1,000

  • Repair or replacement: $1,000–$7,500

Ejector pumps can only push sewage 750 feet or less. That’s because their purpose is to move waste from your home to your sewer line—which is a relatively short distance. Grinder pumps can transport sewage further, but they manage lower volumes of waste than ejector pumps (and they don’t work with septic systems).

Common drain issues include slow-running drains, whether in a sink or shower, clogged drains, a bad smell, and water backing up into a sink, shower, or bathtub. Causes range from hair, grease, roots, or toilet paper clogging the drainpipes to flooding outside the home, which prevents sewer lines from draining properly.

While not every clog has the same symptoms, the most common early sign that your main sewer line is clogged is that multiple drains in your home are draining slowly. You may also notice gurgling and odors from drains. If your plumbing system's drain cleanout is backing up with water, this is also a sign of a clog or blockage.
