"Ed and his partner texted the morning of to touch base and let me know about their arrival. They did an excellent job on the wallpaper in our nursery. I appreciated the warranty and accurate estimate ahead of time. Fast communication and got the job done the same week after contacting them. Would hire them again for any future wallpaper needs!"

"Ireland's Finest was excellent! Adrian, Diego, and Andrew O. did a fantastic job painting and staining our home. It was a large project and it looks great!! They were extremely professional, skilled, meticulous, and respectful. They took the time to do thorough prep work, they matched the paint and stain colors perfectly, they answered all questions, and always checked in with us to make sure we were happy with the progress. And the Project Manager, Casey, was great too! He was on site all of the time and was great at communicating with us constantly. We are thrilled that we chose Ireland's Finest!!"

"Great. The owner of the company came to our home, provided the estimate, and joined his employees to do the painting and replacement of some of the trim, all of which we prefer from a contractor. They completed the job in a timely manner, all were very professional and hard-working. They cleaned up well when the job was completed and the newly painted trim looks great. Would definitely hire them again."

"We had Serenity paint our home and they did a great job. Showed up when they were supposed to. Hard workers and made sure to ask all the right questions for colors and locations. Very professional. I would have no problem recommending them."

"Miko was great! His team did a great job of staining the brick and painting our exterior. Had some repairs to our soffit and stucco which you can't even tell had issues. Highly suggest staining versus painting it as it adheres to the brick allowing for breathability. Prices are very reasonable! 10/10 would hire Colors R US again!"

Wallpapering questions, answered by experts

Having dated, peeling, or otherwise damaged wallpaper can decrease the value of your property, so removing that before listing your house is nearly always a good idea; however, since wallpaper tends to be a personal style choice, potential buyers may or may not love your aesthetic as much as you do.

Love the look of wallpaper but want to consider property value as well? Stick with something that is easy to change. If you are thinking of selling soon, make sure your wallpaper hanging is on-point and looks professional with no crooked seams, evenly matched patterns, and minimal bubbling or other imperfections.

It’s possible to hang your own wallpaper, but the process is tedious and potentially frustrating, and it can be challenging to get seams to line up and look clean and professional. Plus, depending on the type of wallpaper you’re installing, using too much or too little adhesive could cause damage to your drywall or plaster, peeling, and bubbling in the final product. It’s usually a better idea to hire a professional wallpaper installer to do the work for you, as the relatively low cost is justifiable, if only to avoid damage to your walls.

One of the biggest downsides to peel-and-stick wallpaper is that it doesn't last as long as traditional wallpaper. Its lifespan depends on several factors, including the quality of the paper, proper wall preparation and application, and the room's conditions. As a general rule, peel-and-stick wallpaper can last for at least five years, but this can vary significantly. Budget products may only last about 3 years, while higher-quality products can stay up for 7 years or more in ideal conditions. Factors that can shorten its lifespan include high humidity (such as in a bathroom), dirty walls, and low-quality paper. If used on flooring, expect it to last only 1 to 3 years unless sealed. However, the shorter lifespan can be seen as a positive, making it a great choice for people who enjoy switching up their interiors more frequently.

Textured or patterned vinyl wallpaper designs are the best option for hiding imperfections. Embossed designs or faux finishes like brick, wood, or linen textures are especially effective at camouflaging dents, cracks, or uneven surfaces. Avoid smooth, shiny finishes, as they can highlight flaws rather than conceal them.

You may end up with extra wallpaper once your project is finished. Hang on to that wallpaper, as you may need to use it to patch up areas that get damaged later on. If you have a lot of excess wallpaper, try getting creative with it. You can use it to line the inside of a cabinet or drawers, for example.
