"Jen2 Excavating is an exceptional company in multiple ways. Yes, Marcus Garcia and his Jen2 team are prompt, polite, hardworking, from start to finish and estimate and price the work accurately and fairly. There is more to the story. We attempted to contact eight Pueblo and Pueblo West Companies to clear the tall grass, weeds, and brush that was rapidly overtaking our desert landscaped property. We sent them all a brief standardized description of the work and the land areas involved. Jen2 alone, responded immediately, came out the same day to estimate the work, and a week later our acre size yard was restored and cleared, and we were delighted with the work done. The other service companies contacted either failed to respond altogether or sent prefabricated emails and text messages within the time it took Jen2 to finish the work. So, start by contacting Jen2 if you have tall grass, weeds, and brush removal job, and avoid the disinterested candidates."

"Derek first started working with us as the architect for a major deck renovation—replacing our back deck, adding a covered roof, a new front deck, and an upper deck off the main bedroom. It was a big project, and while the original deck company started to collapse mid-way through (unfairly pointing fingers at Derek), he stayed the course. Derek continued to communicate clearly, step in where needed, and ultimately saw the entire job through to completion—even installing a stunning tongue-and-groove ceiling on the back deck himself. He went above and beyond when others bailed, and we truly can’t thank him enough. Honest, talented, and committed—Derek’s the kind of professional you want on your team. We recommend him wholeheartedly."

"The plumber not only got the sink draining again, but found the cause of the problem in a seldom used sink downstairs. He cleared out both areas and made sure everything was running smoothly. He also gave me some advice on other plumbing projects I have in mind for the future. He was very thorough and professional and really knew his business. I have used Advantage before and will call them again."

"Communication was the biggest problem. The Angie's List Web site said I would be contacted within 48 hours to schedule the service, and then I was supposed to enter some dates and times that I was available. I did enter those dates and times of my availability, but heard nothing. It was several days before I got a message saying they were looking forward to scheduling service. This message said nothing whatsoever about whether I was supposed to call them, they would call me, or whatever.
Finally I did call because clearly they were not going to initiate contact. We set the time for a Monday morning between 10 and noon. When I had neither seen nor heard anything of them, I called the office. I was told that they had a plumber call in sick and so were behind on their work. I was told the plumber would arrive between 2 and 4 instead, probably close to 2. By 3:30, nothing. I called again, and was again told that the plumber was "on his way." He eventually arrived, about ten minutes until 6:00.
Things improved rapidly once the plumber did arrive. Wes is his name and he was appropriately apologetic. He seemed to do his work quickly and competently, and it was a pleasant interaction with him.
There was a part he needed that was unavailable by nearly 8 in the evening, and so he pledged to return the following day to complete the work. He did come as promised, and finished the installation of the new part for the front faucet.
Wes then snaked the shower drain again; we'd had such an improvement from the work the day before that we thought another round of cleaning would make it even better. Although he spent more than 2 hours in total at the house, he made no further charge as a kind of compensation for being so late the day before. In the end I paid only the "deal" price of $99 for two hours plumbing plus the charges for parts that Wes supplied.
I will call Around the Clock next time I have a plumbing need. I suspect that if it's not this 'Big Deal" then it will be easier to make contact, and I do think the work was done well.
I really appreciated Wes's demeanor and approach to his work, and think that the company is fortunate to have him.

Land Clearing Services questions, answered by experts

Yes, they assess topography and potential risks related to flooding.

Professional well contractors may use electromagnetic mapping to look for places with a high likelihood of water. Water access can vary significantly, even on the same property, so it can be difficult to know where to drill if you don’t have specialized tools to look for water.

Yes, new home construction will always require building permits, no matter where you live. In most cases, you’ll need a general construction permit, along with plumbing and electrical permits for the utility lines in your home. Depending on where you live, you’ll likely find that you also need permits for things like connection to a sewage system or installing exterior components, like decks, driveways, patios, and curb cutouts. Leave navigating the permits required for new home construction to a professional to ensure your home is built legally and safely.

You should always calculate real estate development costs on a case-by-case basis, so there’s no specific formula to estimate your total. You should speak with a local construction manager to see what you’ll need to do in terms of clearing and leveling the land, connecting utilities, and pulling permits for construction. A professional will be able to get you an accurate estimate for land development.

If a buyer pays for a survey, the surveyor they hired will only provide results to them. It’s up to the buyer whether they share the survey results with the seller or not, even if they ultimately walk away from the deal. It’s considered good faith to share the results with the seller, though, especially if you back out of the deal, as the seller can then provide that survey to future interested parties.
