"This company has been our "go to" business for all of our plumbing issues for years, and just yesterday (July 16) they replaced 10 feet of our sewer line. The crew was extremely gracious, worked well as a team, and took extra care to not damage our backyard. And when the job was done, they took more time to restore our landscaping so that you can't even tell a backhoe was in our backyard! My wife and I highly recommend this company!"

"It went great and we would definitely hire him again! Our house is 22 years old and many things need to be be replaced. Patrick replaced one faucet valve on a two handle faucet and charged $189. When he turned on the water, he thought the pressure was high and when tested it was 90 to 100. I think this might explain why our faucets are failing frequently. That charge was $400. He also flushed our water heater and gave us a discount. I called him back a day later because the outside house faucet suddenly was leaking quite a bit. That charge was $346 as he put in an entire new kit instead of a rebuilt kit or a partial kit. These other options were offered and would have been a cheaper fix. He also had a cheaper option for the pressure reducing valve, but we opted for a new device. I thought his prices reasonable. he gave us multiple discounts and did not pressure us at all and explained in detail his work. Patrick worked hard and fast and I am confident he did an excellent job. He was interested in us being pleased with his work. I also felt he was honest and looking after our best interests and that means a lot."

"Greg was absolutely great----arrived early, incredibly professional, and found several things I suspect a lot of other competitors would have missed which were very much appreciated. The inspection went fast, but nothing was missed. This guy obviously knows his stuff, and we've already recommended him to a neighbor considering selling and buying a new house too. Again, great guy, highly professional and knowledgeable, and reasonably priced. A+++ Scott Hoffman"

We are the original $99 Rooter in Denver. We specialize in drain cleaning of any kind from your Main Line to your Kitchen Sink to unclogging your toliet. We are simply the best Drain Cleaning company in Denver

"TL;DR DO NOT USE 99 ROOTER. We were scammed out of $2000, with 3 huge holes in our home wall/ceiling still, problem still not fixed. Incompetent business management. Here’s the details: We have previously worked with a father-son duo for all plumbing needs. Recently, our short-term renter said he could smell methane (assuming he meant sewer smells), so we called our plumbers. They referred us to 99 Rooter this time, said they’re working with them, and that we should schedule through their phone line. OK, no problem. We called and scheduled, asked for our guys to come out, but they sent Caleb out same-day, did a thorough sewer scope. Very helpful. Checked inside and outside the house. Couldn’t find anything. Upfront and honest. Said to call back and he’d come out if we smell it again. Caleb is awesome! 2-3 weeks later, smell came back. We call and ask for Caleb to come back. Instead, they send Paul. Wouldn’t be an issue, except that he cut two large holes in our basement ceiling and still couldn’t find the source of the smell. So he says he’ll come back the next day with a smoker to smoke out all the sewer and find a pipe leak. Doesn’t show. Says he’s coming the next day. Doesn’t show. Then we find out he’s sick and his brother Milo is coming out the next day. He doesn’t show. Finally say they’re coming on Monday. Don’t show b/c they can’t find the smoker pellets. Finally, about a week later, Milo shows up with two other guys (one has his daughter with him), none have a knowledge of what’s going on. I’m at work, so my wife calls me. I explain where the issue is (the bathroom) and explain a pipe needs to be sealed or replaced. He swears the issue is actually the washer/dryers in different rooms entirely. I tell him that’s not the case, but he swears it will fix it. I tell him we already have a vent on the W/D, but he says we don’t and he needs to add one. They cut a massive hole into our wall in the living room. They cut the pipe with the current vent and add a second vent. Then cut downstairs behind the W/D and add one there as well. 25 minutes of work. They ask for a $2000 cash payment because of credit card fees, and they’ll send us an invoice. We have cash so my wife pays them. No smoking the pipes. No wall patching. No sealing or replacing a leak. A couple of days later, the smell came back. I called 99 Rooter to ask for the invoice, asked for them to fix the issue again, and when they were going to patch the walls. There is no record of these brothers’ work in their system. I spoke with Adam, a high level guy. He finally agrees to send someone out, and we ask for Caleb specifically. Guess what? Nobody shows up because he didn’t actually schedule it. We called again. Caleb FINALLY comes out and apologizes a ton (super great guy) and inspects. We did have vents, they just acted like that was the problem so they could charge us. Caleb removes the installed vent, and connects the pipes to the old one, takes a bunch of pictures, and sends them to Adam. The brothers were fired, and they started calling and texting my wife over and over, very angry at us. Did 99 Rooter make it right? No. Did they take responsibility for the two brothers they employed? Not really. Did they pay us back? Nope. Are there huge holes in our house? Yes. Is the problem fixed? Definitely not. Smelled like sewer in the home last night, again."

Drain Cleaning questions, answered by experts

It might be possible to dissolve hair caught in a drain, but it’s usually not a good way to go about clearing the clog. Some sources mention that baking soda and vinegar can do the trick, but this won’t actually dissolve the hair. The hydrochloric acid in drain cleaners can dissolve the hair over time, but it will much more quickly destroy your plumbing pipes and leave you with bigger issues. The best way to remove hair is to do it manually with a drain snake or to have a plumber use an auger to pull clogs out.

The first rule of plumbing is nothing but water, toilet paper, number one, and number two go down the drain.

To prevent clogs, get yourself:

  • A compast pail where you can clean plates, drain grease, and toss scraps and paper towels.

  • Drain screens for the shower, tub, and bathroom sink to stop hair, jewelry, toys, etc. from going down the drain.

  • Trash cans for everything that shouldn’t go down the drain, like dental floss, hygiene products, and cat litter.

P.S.: If you do drop your priceless ring down the drain, take a deep breath, and then follow these steps to retrieve jewelry from your drain.

Drain clearing removes debris and clogs from drain pipes enough to allow water to drain properly. On the other hand, drain cleaning removes all of the material from the pipe so that water flows unrestricted, which is a longer-term solution. Your plumbing pro will be able to recommend the right service depending on the clog size, frequency of issues, and surrounding pipework.

Several signs can tip you off to a clogged dishwasher drain. At first, you may notice that it’s taking longer than usual for the dishwasher to drain, or you may hear gurgling sounds during the draining part of the cycle. You might also notice water backing up into your sink or excess food at the bottom of the dishwasher after a load. The most obvious sign, though, is seeing standing water at the bottom of your dishwasher after the cycle has finished.

Vinegar is better for an AC drain line because it’s less corrosive and won’t damage the pipes. It’s also a safer and easier product to use. Bleach should not be used on your AC drain line because it can corrode your pipes and harm the evaporator coil in your air conditioner.
