"Excellent job on the window tinting project. The quality of the work is top- notch, clean precise and professionally done. The tint not only enhanced the look of the home but has reduced the glare and heat, just as I had hoped. Cassandra was respectful of our space and left everything spotless after the job was done. I’d highly recommend to anyone looking to upgrade their home Windows. Outstanding work with a fun personality!!"

"I had a bad experience with another window film installer, I wonâ t say who it was but they told me their film would block out a certain amount of heat and my living room was still WAY too hot in the afternoons so I called CoolVu to try to fix the problem. They came out the next day, told me exactly why the other film wasnâ t working and put up new film on all the windows in just a few hours. Now I can be in my living room without sweating the whole afternoon AND my AC bill is noticeably lower. CoolVu is the company you want to do your window film install!"

"I have owned my house for 14 years and have used about 10 different window cleaners and by far, Will, Aspen Window, is the BEST! He arrived a little early and when I saw what a great job he was doing, I added several more windows for him to clean. Plus, he included cleaning the screens for free. I actually called my neighbors while he was here and recommended him to them. His price was more than fair and I couldn't be happier."

Window Tinting questions, answered by experts

Whether window film is better depends on individual preferences and specific needs. In some instances, window film can be much less costly to install. Aesthetics is also a deciding factor. Window film may have a more significant appeal for design minimalists looking for a clean and streamlined look without the heaviness that comes with curtains. On the flip side, they can also appeal to design maximalists looking for creative expression in the form of color, patterns, and texture. Choosing between window film and traditional window coverings depends on factors like desired functionality, aesthetics, and personal preferences.

The average cost for home window tinting is around $600, with most homeowners paying between $150 and $1,600. Costs can also be calculated per square foot, typically ranging from $2 to $100, or per window at around $75 each. For example, tinting one or two windows might cost between $200 and $350, while a larger project of 13 to 15 windows could range from $4,124 to $4,747.

Several factors influence the total project cost, with the number and size of the windows being the most significant. Other key factors include the type, shade, and quality of the tint film, as well as labor costs. Additional treatments, such as low-emissivity (low-E) coatings, can also increase material costs.

Window tinting offers several benefits, such as making your home more energy-efficient by blocking harsh sunlight, protecting furniture from fading, and increasing privacy. For this reason, many homeowners choose to tint only the windows in specific areas where direct sunlight and privacy are primary concerns.

Use a combination of blackout methods to truly black out your windows. If you want to eliminate all light from your room, try installing a very dark tinted film and then putting up blackout shades over the entire window. Reach out to a professional and request some custom-made shades for the best result.

No, it isn’t necessary to have energy-efficient windows. However, if you care about your energy bill and making your windows more energy efficient, fixing any heat, UV, or air transfer issues is an excellent way to lower your bills and keep your house cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter.

If you have bubble wrap lying around the house and you don’t care about the odd look, taping bubble wrap over a window is a very affordable way to insulate it. Another inexpensive option for insulating windows is to add new caulk around the glass. This step quickly cuts down on air drafts for older windows, and a tube of caulk only costs a few dollars. Adding plastic shrink film around the glass is another cost-effective option. You can purchase a kit of plastic film for a few dollars per window.
