Emergency services offered

"We could not rate Chimney Sweeps of America any higher! They are an excellently organized, knowledgeable, personable and professional outfit whose approach is marked by integrity. Our first experience with CSA was seven years ago. We needed to replace our chimney and install an insert for our townhome. With dedication, care, and attention to detail, all the work was scheduled clearly, the work was accomplished efficiently, and the care to cleanliness and craftsmanship was a pleasure to experience. We have used CSA every year for inspection and cleaning. The same attention to detail is applied to these yearly events. By now we know most of the technicians. We all look forward to catching up. If there is ever a concern, CSA will explain all that is involved. Their pricing is fair, and we have promoted their use in our HOA. Return customers are prized and given discounts for services. They service both wood burning and gas burning units. From our point of view, they stand head and shoulders above the competition!"

Small jobs welcome

"Dominic did a great job. Arrived when he said he would, assessed the problem. Cleaned the dryer vent quickly and efficiently, along with replacing the hose from the dryer to the wall which had a small tear in it. Price was reasonable. Would hire again when needed."

Chimney Liner Installation questions, answered by experts

Avoid pool liner wrinkles by moving slowly as you attach the edge of the liner to the pool wall. Add a few inches of water during this process and slowly walk from the center of the pool to the walls, lightly pressing the liner as you go. For an in-ground pool with a beaded liner, you can also use a wet-and-dry vac to suction out the remaining groundwater and air between the liner and the pool foundation.

It may be worth it to remodel your pool if you plan to sell your home soon. Pool remodels can increase a home’s value by up to 8%. Some of the best-value remodels include replacing a wood deck with pavers or darkening an interior pool finish. Luxury additions like smart lighting, fountains, and fire features can make a dated pool feel modern.

If you have a higher budget, changing the shape of your pool by adding an infinity edge or putting in a swim-up bar can also add a ton of curb appeal.

To quickly repair a pool liner without a patch kit on hand, you can use waterproof tape or even duct tape over the tear. While these solutions are helpful, they work best as temporary fixes until you can purchase a patch kit or hire a pool repair professional. Waterproof or duct tape are also best reserved for smaller holes or tears.

Clean regularly, balance water chemistry, and inspect for tears or wrinkles in the liner.

Pool leaks most commonly occur at joints or where different materials meet. The most frequent leak spots include:

  • The Pool Skimmer: Where the plastic skimmer meets the pool's liner or shell.

  • The Pool Liner: Tears can develop in vinyl liners, especially those between 5 and 20 years old. Leaks also occur around the liner's edge.

  • Fittings and Accessories: Areas around return lines, the main drain, and pool lights are common culprits.

  • Pool Equipment: The pump, filter, and filter housing can also leak.

While leaks in underground pipes are less common, they can be costly to fix. It's usually best to check the more common spots before investigating the plumbing system.
