"Chris is an excellent craftsman. He's punctual, professional, engaging, and knowledgeable. He asked a very fair price and did a superior job repairing the badly deteriorating marble tile in our shower. He made it look new again. We loved him. We recommend his company highly."

"This was my first purchase of a Angie's List special. I am very pleased with this company. The provided excellent communication, prompt response, on-time arrival and a bargain for the amount of work that was done. They restored the areas I requested. I would recommend them and WILL definitely use them again. I choose this company because the work to be performed was minor & it seemed to me that several of the granite companies were looking for bigger jobs, based on the amounts of money that was spent by reviewers. I use this technique often for vendors. I do not like to be overcharged, nor do I like compnaies to try to sell me additional stuff. I use a "don't contact me - I'll contact you" approach and do not like unsolicited marketing or advertising (including from Angie's List). I bought the service over the weekend. The owner contacted me during the weekend to let me know that he was not able to telephone me because the number listed in my Angie's List account was old and was no longer my number. I gave 3 dates for the work to be performed, and they were able to come out this morning - just a few days after requesting the service (and over a weekend). The technician arrived at about 8:30 am - the service was scheduled beween 8-10 am. I showed him what I wanted done and he began work immediately. He worked quietly and efficiently. He was here nearly two hours and restored the areas I requested. There was no extra charge and he did not try to sell me anything else (I like that). I am very pleased with the work and the price. Last week I hired a plumber that charged me $99. just to get to the house! Do be sure to tip the technician if you are completely satisfied. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED "
"John did an outstanding job. We changed out the existing shower, sink, faucet. John repaired the tile in the shower, installed the under-mount sink and had his plumber finish the plumbing. He showed up when he said he would and if he couldn't he would call and let me know of his delay. John is my my new "tile guy" from now on. I would recommend him to everyone."
"Mark was very responsive, professional and took a great deal of care that we were happy with the outcome. Which we were. Communication: He called me back immediately upon my first request. Stayed in contact throughout the process. And always let me know what was going on and what was left to do. Punctuality: Mark kept all appointment times and if he couldn't he called to let us know a new time. Quality of Work: Mark was very forth coming with suggestions and options going so far as to pick up extra marterials so we could make an informed decision about our choices. The mosaic looks perfect. Extactly as we discussed. Pricing and Time Line: The cost was very resonable and was done quickly. I would reccomend LA Custom Tile and Mark to anyone who asks. Wish I had more work that needed to be done. Thanks "
"The bathtub in my master bathroom was in desperate need of repair and I didn't know where to start. I saw several ads and actually made an appointment with one of the companies advertised. I was, however, uncomfortable with the fact that I knew nothing about them. I went online and read reviews; some were very bad. I cancelled the appointment. I remembered hearing good things about Angie's list and decided to check it out. I really liked what I saw! I joined, called Paul and he came right out to inspect. Several days later, he did the repair and refinishing. He came back out to caulk . .. . . and I now have a "like new" tub. It's beautiful. Paul is very responsive, friendly, dependable, fairly priced, and does tidy and excellent work. He's also thorough - told me everything I need to know about caring for my new finish (simple tips). Refinishing is all he does so he really knows his stuff! We are already planning to have him back to do more. Next stop - shower. Thank you Paul - see you soon! :-) "
"These guys are super professional painters!!! Very affordably priced and they took great care of our property and project during the work. No drips, no over spray, always masked, patched each and every stucco spot on the walls outside and caulked - just like it really should be and without missing anything. They painted the outside walls all around the house including the back and front walls. We could not believe how this new transformation will impact our house. One of our neighbors was the one who recommended them to us and we are very glad that we called them. We will definitely call the in the future."
"Enner and his team were wonderful. Under difficult circumstances due to my condo buildings strict rules Enner managed to get my job done under that had a tight deadline as I wanted the work done before I moved in to my condo. He picked up the tile I had purchased from the store and set to work removing the carpet and installing the tile in my bedrooms and closets. Because my condo is in an older building we discovered that the floor was far from flat. The guys made sure to level my floor whilst laying the tile. Enner and his guys were conscientious, hard workers and kept everything neat and clean. If Enner was unsure of anything he always phoned me to make sure he was on the right path as I was out of state when he started the job. His tile work is stunning and I couldn't be happier. Thanks Enner and the team at Universal Marble, Tile and Granite."
Since marble is a porous material, it is more prone to water spots than other countertop options. Fortunately, pure water doesn’t damage your marble, but if the water is acidic, it can cause stains or water spots. Resealing throughout the year can help increase marble’s water resistance, too.
For most homeowners, quartz and quartzite countertops are similar in price. The average quartz countertop installation costs $80 to $220 per square foot, while quartz countertops cost $70 to $200 per square foot. Of course, there are outliers, like if you choose a highly customized, rare natural stone with high-end finishes.
Engineered quartz is an artificial, nonporous material made from a mix of mined ground quartz, polymer resins, and pigments, making it a lower-maintenance option. In contrast, quartzite is a natural stone composed of sandstone, which makes it highly resistant to heat but often requires sealing and more careful upkeep. You should clean both types of stone with non-abrasive cleaners that have a low or neutral pH, avoiding acidic cleaners like vinegar, as well as wire brushes and scouring pads.
Cracks are usually repaired using an epoxy filler that matches the countertop's color. The area is cleaned, the epoxy applied, and then polished to blend with the surface, restoring both strength and appearance.
Yes, quartzite is heat-resistant, so you can put hot pots and pans on top without risking damage.
