"We wanted to get on board with the current trend in doorbell cameras. Got a quote from ADT Provider, known as Safe Street USA, and felt their offer was more than fair. We have door sensors and motion detectors inside and the doorbell camera mounted outside. Nice to feel “with the times” in home automation and security."
"Last weekend had someone pry our side door open to our exterior garage and the ADT door sensor picked it up immediately. The alarm siren was loud and scared the person off. Someone from the response center called within 30 seconds. We’re fortunate that the security system did what it is supposed to. Feels like we made the right call going with an ADT security system."
"Excellent job performed by Lugo’s Construction 🦺/ Needed exterior doors including metal security doors installed on short notice. No job seems too big or too small for this team! I would most definitely call them again."
"Victor is the person I use for all my work needed to maintain all of my rental properties as well as my residence. He has done for me everything I needed to be done. Roof repairs, plumbing, dry wall, shower enclosure installation, door replacement, painting, water heater replacement, garbage disposal installation, toilets and faucets replacements and many other odd jobs. Victor is always available and accommodating in case of emergencies, that happen often in my case. His work quality is very good and priced very reasonably. I highly recommend him to anyone for large as well as small projects. "

"I was hopeful when I first met Marco. He responded to my inquiry very quickly and came over right away. I have a small leak above one of our windows (on the inside) that I wanted to fix. Wasn't sure if it was dry rot or caulking, the gutter, or roof possibly. He came over and assured me that it was only the paint and caulking and that it was a very easy fix. They scraped off some old paint and sealed the area, as well as caulked around the window. They also fixed a small piece of wood that had come away from the house. They told me, with confidence, that everything was all set and would be good. However, when it rained a few hours later, the leak was still there, just as bad as before. He had mentioned fitting me in while he was in the middle of a job, and I'm afraid he rushed through the job just go get it done, so I'm not sure he properly assessed the problem to find the right solution. When I texted him the following day saying the leak, he texted me back "must be the roof then, i think you have to call a roofer to fix that, i don't do roof work". I know that our roof is in very good order, and it was disconcerting that the work he was confident was easy and finished was not only incorrectly assessed, but also out of his realm to fix. Unfortunately, I still have a leak to fix and I'm hoping that the work he did didn't create more work for the contractor who will end up having to fix the problem. He did fix our front door to shut properly, but it took me checking and re-checking it in order for it to be done properly.

"Delivery was delayed due to credit inquiry. After the concern was raised, shipment was rushed to us. Self installation didn't go as easy. Issue was resolved over the phone. The glass break sensor was a bit sensitive to loud noise such as cabinet door closing and door sensor repeatedly falls off and had to be reattached. Notification of alarm activation was fast and made to the right contact numbers. This prevented false alarm calls to the police."
You should always install cameras at exterior doors and windows. Other areas where you should place cameras are your front and back yards, the garage and driveway, common living areas, hallways and staircases, and the basement. Remember, you can start with a small Wi-Fi security camera system and always add more cameras if needed.
One significant drawback of home automation is the increased risk of cybersecurity threats. With more connected devices in our homes, there's a greater chance that hackers might try to exploit vulnerabilities to access personal data or even control your devices. If you don't secure your smart gadgets properly, they can become entry points for cyberattacks, risking your privacy and safety. Moreover, technology isn't perfect. Sometimes, systems can malfunction or experience connectivity issues, disrupting your daily routines. The upfront cost of buying and installing smart devices can also be a hurdle for some people.
Security cameras do not need wiring if they are wireless, meaning they are battery-operated and can connect through Wi-Fi. You’ll need to change the batteries on a wireless camera and ensure you have a steady connection to Wi-Fi for video storage. If you have a wired security camera, you’ll need to plug it into an outlet or other power source and a DVR device.
Depending on your needs and wants, investing in a security door can be well worth the cost. Now that you know the pros and cons, you can decide if it’s a purchase that makes sense for your family. If you’re ready to have one installed in your home, look into security door installers in your area.
Yes, there are, and they often come with a screw set to ensure they stay secure. They run on batteries, depend on WiFi, and often require a WiFi extender. These typically cost less than $50. Doorbell cameras like these are great for renters who can't install a wired solution. However, a wired doorbell camera is a better choice for homeowners looking to invest wisely in home security.
