"Angel was amazing! He showed great patience with me while I sorted out my thoughts, he was prompt, and professional. I had to purchase a new lock for my door, and the lock came with a guarantee. I would surely recommend Verilock Mobile Locksmith and I will use them again in the future. Top tier!"

"Mike, my locksmith, called me right away, and we set up an appointment. He called from the road, and let me know his ETA. He listened to my description of the problem, and was willing to try to solve the issue. And fix it, he did! We can open our desk again! We appreciate his imagination and can-do spirit."

"The job was good and there were no problems. I originally wanted new keys made for my exisiting lock but was told that they could not do that.  So a new lock was isntalled instead.  Although the work was good and the locksmith was courteous and professional, I just did not expect to pay that much to replace a lock.

Locksmiths questions, answered by experts

When it comes to how to get a stuck key out of a lock, the simplest way is to use some kind of lubricating substance. One option is to apply graphite powder while wiggling the key gently. As the graphite fills the lock, jiggling should loosen the key enough to allow you to pull it out.

Lock bumping is a technique locksmiths use to quickly and quietly open a pin tumbler lock, typically found in most types of deadbolts. It involves inserting a specially crafted key, or bump key, into the lock and tapping or "bumping" it with a mallet or similar tool. The force applied causes the lock's pins to jump momentarily, allowing the lock to be turned and opened. Unfortunately, thieves also use this technique to break into homes. Luckily, products like a deadbolt strap will fortify your lock.

Smart locks offer a similar level of safety to traditional or conventional locks because they often use comparable locking mechanisms, such as deadbolts. The primary difference is the access method: smart locks use a login or code instead of a physical key, which adds convenience. While not inherently safer, some smart locks have added security features that can deter intruders, like shutting down after too many incorrect code attempts or being harder to pick. For the best security, it's recommended to combine any lock with other home safety features like motion-activated lighting, security cameras, and window and door sensors.

Rekeying your own locks is a low-cost task that prevents you from having to replace the locks themselves completely. The first couple of times you rekey a lock may be challenging because this is an intermediate DIY task. You can purchase a rekey kit from most hardware stores, but make sure you’re buying the kit from the brand of lock in your home that you’re going to rekey.

Costs depend on lock type, service complexity, labor, emergency availability, and whether security system integration is needed.
