"I hired Nate to do wrought iron fence repair and to add a gate on my back yard wrought iron fence. Nate took his time to explain what the defect rust issues with the fence were and manufacturing a gate and approximate how long the repair would take. Nate took his time to explain how he was going to manufacture the gate on site, being I could not visually see his vision. The new gate turned out perfectly, visually and was seamless and blended perfectly with the rest of the wrought iron fence. . I could not be more pleased with the outcome Nate and his crew were professional and were promptly on time for a two day job. His crew are friendly and courteous and cleaned up after themselves daily. I would highly recommend and absolutely refer Nate and his crew to anyone needing a gate and or any metal fence repair."

"James was exceptionally professional and polite and did an outstanding job on the rails that he installed in my house with both the backyard and the front. He’s a perfectionist and I will hire him and re-hire him over and over and recommend him over and over. Very humble and a very soulful human being. I give him 10 stars not five. Thank you, James for the wonderful professional job. :)"

"Dante provided outstanding customer service and was knowledgeable, patient and very professional. We really did not want to purchase another iron window, just needed custom made brackets and welded to the iron window. Dante did a great job. Overall my wife and I are very pleased with our experience with L.A. Iron Works. Thank you HomeAdvisor for recommending this company. Gus & Judith"

"Wonderful service. This is a 5 -star company! Josh was on time and very professional. He designed and made a custom set of tables for my work space, using the ideas I showed him. He works with both wood and metal so was able to match the colors and style I wanted exactly. The quality of his craftsmanship is amazing. And he’s so nice! He even helped me fix a broken cabinet. I highly recommend Josh and this company for any metal fabrication or wood work. I will definitely call White Bison again. Thank you Josh!"

It will likely take an experienced pro less than an hour to install a ground rod, which is another reason why letting them handle the job is such a good idea. Safety concerns aside, it would likely take you much longer to install a ground rod if you decided to take this one as a DIY job.

Yes, but you’ll need reliable steel-cutting tools and safety gear to get started. Shipping containers are typically around ¾ inch thick, so it’s entirely possible to cut through them, but experience and the right equipment are very important. When possible, try to get a container as close to the size you want it as possible.

Your typical household tools will not cut a metal pipe. To cut a metal pipe, you’d need more specialized tools like a pipe cutter or circular saw. Do not attempt to use these tools without taking proper safety precautions and wearing safety gear. It’s usually safer to let a pro cut a metal pipe, especially if you’re not confident in your skills with a heavy-duty saw.

Professional metal fabricators typically charge around $70 per hour, but the total cost of your project will depend on several factors. The largest cost drivers are the size, complexity, and design of the project, as well as the price and type of metal used. A good way to estimate the total cost is to multiply the cost of raw materials by four; typically, one-quarter of the total goes toward materials and three-quarters toward labor. Your geographic location can also influence costs, as labor and material prices vary by region.

Since water heaters are primarily made of metal, they’re commonly accepted by scrap yards and collectors. Don’t expect to fetch a high price, though—water heaters are mostly steel and aluminum, which aren’t high-value metals. Some components are made of more valuable metals, like brass and copper, but they’re a small portion of the heater and won’t affect the price much.
