Customers say: Super punctual

I started my business in 2010 and we still want to get bigger around the area

"I received a phone call from Jose, saying he could arrive to my house around 1pm. He was very prompt and in fact I was 5 minutes behind. When I arrived I shook his hand. He was with another guy who he introduced as "my friend". Then I showed them the work that needed to be done. He works by the job and not the hour. His quote was $150. When I asked how long it would approximately take, I was told about an hour and half. I was pretty taken back and said, "You know that's $100 an hour". I asked if he could come down to $100 which is still $66 an hour. He asked if I could come up to $125 in order to pay the guy who was with him-who he apparently farms out jobs to. I thought $83 an hour and change was still expensive, but agreed. Than Jose told me that he had another job to go to and would be in touch with me. I asked if he planned on doing the work. He again said, "I'll call you". I said, "That's okay, but please just let me know if you plan on coming back or not so I don't have to sit here all day waiting for nothing". He said, "Okay". Well, I waited an hour, than called him and reached his voicemail. I left a message asking if he planned on doing the job. Long and short, I never heard back. IMO, that's no way for a business owner to do business. All I needed was a call or text to let me know he wasn't going to make it. Disappointing."

Family owned home improvement and repair business serving the desert communities from Morongo Valley to Cochella. We provide upscale remodeling services to discerning homeowners including repair services. Our handyman service includes any project you have from plumbing to carpentry and more. This is our passion and we take pride in what we do as evidenced by the reviews from our happy customers. We are licensed and insured. Give us a call, we would appreciate meeting you and giving you and estimate for your project. Thanks for checking us out. Matt and Steve Whitton

"Matt showed up with proper supplies to perform the work as we had discussed on the phone. He did the work quickly and professionally. There was some other areas that had been recommended by a home inspector as needing repairs, but Matt explained that there was already a metal flange in place that provided a seal in the firewall. While he said that he could seal up the opening around the vent stack, he said it wasn’t necessary and it would be a waste of my money. That says to me that he isn’t out to make money on unnecessary work. I would definitely recommend this handyman"

Masonry questions, answered by experts

Modern brick houses are really stick-built homes with a brick facade for aesthetic purposes only, so most have framing. With genuine brick construction, most homeowners install furring strips over the interior of the brick and then install drywall over those strips to cover the brick wall, so they don’t have traditional framing.

Yes, you can paint stone on the exterior of a house. It’s important to properly prep the stone by cleaning off dirt and debris. You’ll want to apply at least two coats of paint to get the most even and complete coverage. Any pinholes or missed spots, however small, can allow moisture to get into the masonry and potentially cause the paint to blister and peel from the stone.

Mortar is a mixture of sand and cement that binds materials, such as bricks, stones, and concrete blocks, together. Think of it as the glue that fills in the gaps between bricks and stones, then seals them in place to prevent damage or deterioration. Mortar also helps spread the load across a wall or structure, keeping cracks and shifting at bay.

The material you use depends on how hard-wearing your steps need to be and what you want them to look like. The most common stone for exterior steps is bluestone. It’s hard-wearing and durable, and bluestone steps cost between $15 and $30 per linear foot. Limestone is also a popular option and is mid-range, costing $25 to $50 per linear foot. You should always consider the specific requirements of your project before ordering any materials.

There are tons of paint colors to choose from for your brick house, but here are some great choices you should consider. Different shades of white can add a modern vibe. Instead of a bright white, try off-white or cream-white.

If you’re not into the idea of a white house, then you might go the opposite route and go with a matte black tone. Black painted brick houses have their own contemporary aesthetic that might fit your vision.

Additionally, some great barndominium colors include gray, blue, and sage green.
