"The appraisal of the job gave me best and worst case scenarios. They showed up on time everytime and finished on schedule. Strait lines and finished edges. Tie in is perfect. The crew was hard working and truly skilled. Plus they were very pleasant and approachable. I have Balke's roofing ordering parts for a second job. Next year I'll have them quote me the cost of reroofing my garage."

"Great presintation! They explain all about roofing, product, if there will be any extra cost wood, look in your attic for damages, 3d pictures of your roof how it will look like after it's been done. Added extra ventilation where needed. Clean up was great. I have Dish, they paid the cost to have Dish come back out. There was no surprises! They delivered product one day, next day they removed old wood and replaced with new and extra ventilation. It's just beautiful! They went beyond did extra safety steps for the customer. My roof looks great, beautiful and I can't stop looking at it. We have the roof for Idaho weather not California. The cost is high but you will have a nice product you will not have to worry about for a very very long time. I would recommend this company they are a top quality roofing company."

"If you’re looking for honest, reliable and quality - this is the contractor to call. He will not cut corners and will delivery quality work. If you’re looking for someone to show up and fix your problems- this contractor will not disappoint. I called every roofing contractor in Butte County to fix my sagging roof. Every single one of those contractors told me that magalia was too far, they could make more money some where else or I should bulldoze my home and start over. I called Aldric Roofing and made an appointment with Richard. He is courteous, kind, took the time to walk through the job and answer all my questions without making me feel uncomfortable or stupid. He assured me that I should not bulldoze my home and fixed the sagging roof. He was able to complete the roof before agreed due date. He did not leave a mess during while working on my property. No hidden fees. He is an honest, reliable family man that will deliver quality that other contractors lack."

The number of roof vents necessary for a 2,000-square-foot house depends on several factors. The calculation depends on the net free area within the attic and whether your municipality requires a 1/150 or a 1/300 ratio of venting square feet to attic square feet. If you install vents with a square-foot opening of one, you'll need either 14 or seven exhaust vents and an equal square-foot amount of intake vents.

A metal roof can last anywhere from 15 to over 100 years, with an average of 50 years, depending on the material, installation, and environment. The specific metal is a key factor: aluminum roofs may last 20 to 45 years, while steel can last 30 to 60 years. Tin can last for up to 75 years, and more durable options like zinc, stainless steel, and copper can last from 80 to over 100 years. Factors that can shorten a metal roof's lifespan include living in a coastal region with corrosive salt air, improper installation (such as laying over old shingles), and failing to inspect and replace fasteners, which may wear out before the panels.

Copper roof strips offer better coverage and more damage protection than zinc roof strips. Although both deter moss and algae growth, copper also offers UV protection. Zinc strips require more strips than copper to cover the roof’s surface area, which means more holes in your roof. Copper strips are also more flexible and last longer than zinc strips.

Homeowners insurance may cover the cost to tarp a roof if the type of damage falls within your coverage. For example, roof damage caused by a natural disaster may fall within your plan, and the cost of a temporary tarp may be incorporated. In general, however, simply tarping your roof for renovations will often not fall under insurance coverage.

You can install solar panels on a flat or pitched roof, but keep in mind that they will need to rest at a 30- to 50-degree tilt for optimal sun absorption. It costs more to install solar panels on a flat roof because you will need to install a framing system and likely hire a structural engineer. If your roof has a pitch of more than 40 degrees, it may not be a good candidate for solar panels.
