Small jobs welcome

"Jeremiah came out and tested the air and moisture and other items to determine if I had mold in my basement. After getting the test results there was evidence of mold and he recommended a company that provides a do it yourself kit for mold remediation. (Not cheap). After getting the items and realizing that there was more work, it would have been better for me to let my insurance company handle this as I do have coverage for mold/fungi. Though having a professional do the work is expensive, from what Jeremiah mentioned, it does not guarantee that the work will be complete or the source of the problem taken care of. He mentioned most companies will take care of the mold but not necessarily the cause of the mold. For this I would have to contact another company."

"I had an excellent experience with Mold Dwelling Testing. From the first phone call to the final report, the entire process was professional, smooth, and stress-free. Their team was responsive, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain everything clearly. They answered all of my questions honestly and made me feel confident throughout the inspection process. The inspection itself was very thorough and detailed. They arrived on time, used professional equipment, and carefully checked every area of concern. What stood out most was their integrity and honesty. They focused on providing accurate information and real solutions instead of trying to upsell unnecessary services. The final report was detailed, easy to understand, and delivered quickly. I truly believe Mold Dwelling Testing is one of the best mold testing companies in Los Angeles. Highly recommended!"

Biohazard Remediation questions, answered by experts

Powdery mildew is exactly like it sounds—a widespread mold that looks like baking soda or talcum powder. It’s usually seen on plants and spread in warm climates, which is why many people first discover this issue in their home greenhouse. Over time, plants have become resistant, but if you see it spreading, baking soda and water can eliminate many cases. Otherwise, consider neem oil or fungicide.

Bleach is a biocide that can kill mold, but only on hard surfaces. You’ll need to replace ceiling tiles, insulation, rugs, and other porous surfaces instead.

Yes, you can save moldy wood furniture by removing the mold as soon as you notice it. Mold can penetrate and damage porous wood, though, so waiting to clean it could lead to significant damage. If a large coverage area of mold grows over several months, you may want to ask a professional to try to save the piece. If the damage is bad enough, though, even a pro might not be able to save it.

The answer depends on the size of your home, the type of mold, and your ventilation systems. However, the best answer would be no, you shouldn’t stay in your home. Arrange to be away from your home during the mold remediation process, as mold is often most dangerous when it’s being removed due to the particles being released into the air. Some contractors won’t proceed with the remediation if you or other household members are in the home.

A solution of bleach and water is the quickest method for killing mold, but not always the best for DIY use. For safe mold and mildew removal, consider using cleaning products like borax, vinegar, and hydrogen peroxide—though never combined with bleach—for a quick and safe clean.
