"Del Rey Paving exhibits predatory sales practices, failure to deliver on promises, inadequate design, errors in construction, failure to abide by warranties, seeking funds out of contract in order to maintain “good faith” relationship, unresponsiveness, and poor service. After a very high-pressure sales pitch (disguised as a design meeting) with all the accoutrements (fancy PowerPoint demonstration, a copy of their impressive surety bond, commitments that they will stand behind us, and a discount that magically expired the same day) and a commitment that the 25-year warrantee covers everything but seismic and trees, Del Rey Paving completed our $72k backyard paver project in September 2023. Over the next few weeks, the pavers began to separate, sag, and crown. Also, the drainage in many areas was toward the house, not away from it. They did come back a couple of times to remove pavers, recompact, and reset. However, when failures continued, they asked us to let the system fail for another year so they would only have to do a major rehabilitation once. When that year elapsed, they were nowhere to be found. Very difficult to get them to come back out. Then, instead of fixing the failed system, they had a soils engineer evaluate. The engineer's soils report described the underlying soils in precisely the way we had described and physically showed them two years prior to the Senior Design Consultant. The report also recommended construction means and methods to properly support various structures, including paving. The report recommendations were vastly different than how Del Rey Paving actually constructed the paving system two years prior. They recently sent an email essentially saying they didn’t want to keep spending money on their failed system. They also claimed the warranties would not cover the repairs. They are attempting to simply walk away, leaving us with an unsafe, embarrassing backyard and a worthless major investment."

"From the moment I met Guy, I sensed he was very different from other contractors with whom I'd worked....and it was true. He wrote down, in detail, everything that was to be done and it was all completed beautifully and in a timely manner. He brought in superb craftsmen and treated them with great respect, something I've found lacking in other contractors with whom I've worked. Whenever I had a question, he responded promptly and visited often to make sure I was pleased with the work. He even built a custom support for an under-mount sink when the one provided by the manufacturer proved flimsy--something that wasn't even included in our contract! I'd developed some trust issues over the last couple years as a result of working with dishonest contractors or those whose work was of a poor quality. Guy renewed my faith. "Buyer Beware ? After the fires burned our gate we placed an order with Mulholland Brand under the assumption that they could deliver a specific product, as outlined in our original agreement. However, during a technician's visit to take measurements, we were informed that they would be unable to provide what was initially contracted & that it was backordered. Given the multiple red flags, vague and shifting details regarding design and timelines, and their ultimate inability to deliver the agreed-upon product, we chose to cancel the order. Importantly, this cancellation occurred before any fabrication or manufacturing began. Despite this, Mulholland Brand withheld $1,200 from our reimbursement without any prior notice or clear justification. Perhaps this practice of retaining fees was simply because a technician came to take measurements?ironically, the visit that confirmed they couldn't fulfill the original product in our agreement. Stay away Unethical business practices.. "

"We hire Ideal Stripping do our parking lot in the city of orange!! We thought the price was more than fair! They're estimating staff was very fast and thorough. Pedro in the office did an excellent job scheduling around our busy parking lot schedule. They did 1/2 for parking lot and then came back and did the other half so that we would always have parking!! We can't say enough about this company. Do your parking lot a favor and higher this professional for Seal Coating and Stripping Joe Vasquez"

"First and foremost, Pete and his crew are all good guys, courteous, pleasant to talk with, and very hard working. No doubt about it, they know their stuff! Their concrete work is second to none. The finished product is some of the best I've seen. There were two minor issues. One, they damaged a Honeysuckle that was goring over the water spigot trying to access the water spigot. Partly my fault, Knowing how much water it takes for concrete finishing work, I should have pointed it out on the first day. I had to hack down almost all of bush/vines to free the wire trestle to bend the trestle back into shape. Also while they were rooting around for the hose bib they knocked off of the control box for my auto-watering system. A quick reconnect of the control box and all was well. The Honeysuckle has recovered nicely. So... Initially frustrating, in the long run, no harm. Two is he quoted me $3,800.00 for the job. On the day before the pour he told me he ordered a higher grade of concrete and asked for $200.00 more. Now, from my perspective (both professionally and personally) an additional 5.5% on a change order is not unexpected and reasonable so I said fine, no problem. That ate the tip I had planned on giving them anyway so it didn't cost me any more than I planned. And I got a concrete pad I can park an M1A2 Abrams on should the need arise. I highly recommend them. In fact, when I can afford it, I will call Pete back to do my driveway... This time I'll show him where the hose bib is from the front. :-)"

"Every horror story about contractors came true with this job. Mike said he would provide plans 3D at that, but they were just generic plans.. fill in the blanks. and there were no plans for tear down so my backyard, sprinklers, and plants were destroyed. Since there were no plans they poured concrete in the pool and never asked how much shallow end I wanted...so they had to redo it and of course they made me pay for his mistake... there was no communication some days no one would show up and you would not hear from anyone for days..weeks.. The backyard was a mess and workers left food wrappers, cigarette butts . They were doing a backyard pool remodel tore down my fencing yet never was there a discussion about new fencing... that i had to get somewhere else the job went way over budget as they poured on one change order after another...how do you upgrade a pool and all new pool equipment and then are surprised when you need to upgrade the electrical panel?? Then when it came to pool equipment I asked for Pentair pool equipment... this general contractor installs THE POOL EQUIPMENT PLUMBING THAT is labeled in and out BACKWARDS and my filter warranty is voided...that took weeks to get someone out to correct and then the equipment still wasn't working right and Pentair suggested they send a specialist out SPear Pools came and I spent 150.00 in a service call because they wired the pool equipment wrong!!!! No one has returned my calls on that. If they give you a bid I would run the other way sooo fast."
