Customers say: True professional

"We hired McCormick Home Builders to remodel our living room, and we are beyond pleased with the result. The team was professional, worked efficiently, and Aris design ideas made a huge difference. The room feels so much brighter and more spacious. This was the best decision we made for our home, and we were already planning our next remodel with them."

"We hired Robert to legalize a garage conversion done by the homes previous owner and build a carport required by the city. Robert and his team were great and did an excellent job. They ended up having to do a lot of unexpected work due to the previous owner cutting corners when converting the garage. These include pouring a new foundation footer, adding a sheer wall to the structure and rebracing the roof. The city required the carport to be attached to the roof and the brick work was extended to match the driveway. Everything turned out beautiful and we would definitely hire Robert again."

"My project included three bathroom renovations, a complete kitchen overhaul, and first floor flooring — nearly a year of work in total. Dani came with ideas, pushed my thinking, made great recommendations, and connected me with his distributor contacts for tile, quartz, and appliances so I could select materials directly. The result is a dream kitchen I've been thinking about for 10 years and really nicely updated bathrooms. His office manager Sabina was a reliable point of contact throughout. Professional, communicative, and easy to reach. If you're planning a renovation and want someone who will treat your home the way they'd treat their own, consider D2A Construction."

"Wonderful!   These guys are pros.   We had a tough job because we wanted the curbing to cut into some large and smaller boulders.   We also wanted colored concrete.  They did an excellent job!  I would recommend highly."

Garages questions, answered by experts

New garage doors are often worth the investment because they improve the appearance of your home, make it more secure, and add to your property value. Installing a new garage door costs $1,200 on average, but you’ll have greater peace of mind that your garage door will function properly and keep your home safe. If you sell your home shortly after replacing your garage door, you’re expected to see close to a 100% return on investment, which is significantly higher than most home improvement projects and almost instantly makes the project worthwhile.

There are many signs that your garage door needs to be replaced, including: Visual signs of wear and tear Garage is slow to open and close or won’t open or close at all Jerky motions while operating Loose tracks or broken or worn rollers Uneven garage door when open or closed Sagging garage door Noisy operation even after lubricating the moving parts Broken or loose cords Higher energy bills, which could mean poor sealing or insulation

Fiberglass is considered a favorite garage insulation choice due to its combination of affordability, ease of installation, and overall effectiveness. Fiberglass provides good thermal resistance, helping regulate garage temperatures and minimize heat transfer. Additionally, fiberglass is moisture-resistant, reducing the risk of mold or mildew formation.

The lifespan of garage door springs depends on the type and quality of the springs, the physical environment, and the level of use. In general, properly installed and maintained springs open and close a garage door around 10,000 times . That equates to around seven years if you open and close the door about four times a day. If you use your garage door more frequently, live in a very cold or humid environment that promotes corrosion or rust, or have a very heavy door, your springs may wear out faster and require replacing sooner.

A garage extension makes sense if you need more room to work, store your belongings, or park another vehicle. It’s also a smart financial move. As far as the value a garage adds to a home, you can often recoup 75% to 85% of your investment into a garage extension.
