Customers say: True professional

"Jamie and his crew were outstanding. Always professional, on time, on schedule, clean and my design was followed perfectly. I am a Facility Manager and have dealt with contractors in several of the trades including concrete for many years. This was top quality work done at a fair price. Jamie listened to what we wanted and made it happen just like we envisioned. We are revamping the front yard in a couple of years and Maranata will be our contractor."

"Exceptional. Showed up on time, every time, explained everything to us before it occurred. Cost was not the lowest bid I'd received but I was just really impressed by Eddies demeanor, and professionalism when he came out to complete the bid.  The quality of the work on the new driveway and sidewalk was exceptional...looks amazing. Crew was friendly and polite and knowledgeable. Zero surprises... kept us in the loop as far as the timing of various aspects of the project-offered tips on plants and the installation of the drip irrigation...even offered to come back and coach us up as we started the planting of the yard. Got a full tutorial on how drip irrigation worked and samples of the parts and assemblies to do a self install if we wanted. Cannot say enough about how great the completed work was and how easy Eddie and his crew were to work with on this project.

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

Yes, with colored finishes and decorative stamping for a personalized touch.

The answer to whether or not you need to get a permit before you start your driveway can vary widely based on local ordinances and the scope of your driveway ideas. In most urban and suburban areas, a permit is needed before building a new driveway to ensure that a homeowner is using safe materials and proper drainage practices while designing and constructing a new driveway. In some rural areas, a homeowner may not be required to apply for a permit. When building a new driveway on your own, always check with your local building department to see if you need to request a permit. When hiring a driveway contractor, verify that the right permits are being used before driveway construction begins.

In the United States, roads are usually categorized as one of three types: public roads, other drivable roads, and non-drivable roads. These categories dictate how a road can be used; a non-drivable road might be classified that way because it is heavily damaged and unsafe for cars.

The material that’s best for your private road depends on your property, the climate in your area, and your personal preferences. Gravel is an affordable option, but some homeowners don’t like how it looks. It can be a pain to remove snow from, and it requires more ongoing maintenance than asphalt or concrete. However, while these other options require less maintenance and make snow removal a breeze, they’re more expensive and will need repairs from time to time. Ultimately, you’ll have to choose the road material that suits you and your property best.

Cobblestone is just one of many driveway materials. Other, more economical, albeit less elaborate options include concrete, asphalt, and gravel.

If you want a material that most closely resembles cobblestone, your best option is bricks or pavers. Both cost anywhere from $10 to $50 per square foot and can be laid in all kinds of patterns. Depending on the type of paver you choose, you can also get a good bang for your buck by investing in durable natural stone.
