"Larry and his team installed a beautiful fence in our front yard. Right from the beginning you could tell they knew what they were doing. Very professional, I would use them again and will refer them for anyone that needs fencing done."

"the pride of ownership and workmanship starts with an on-the-spot written proposal. Danil understood our needs perfectly, and he actually gave us 2 proposals with 2 options on each. No one else could do that; they “had to get back to us”. Day of the project, all workers arrived on time. Courteous and professional, they cleaned up afterwards and the project was finished in 8 hours (maybe less). I wish I had more fences to build. It’s a no brainer to select this company with confidence. Strongly recommended. Walter H."

"Don't put this up in the review. Men were fast and did a good job. I think it was very expensive for what they did, but I was in a bind and it had to be done immediately (fence repair only). I had expected the relatively simple repair job to be $500 but it was $750, 50% more than expected and budgeted."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

When planning fencing in Sacramento, review any HOA or historic district guidelines, as these can affect design and height. Be mindful of utility easements and flood-prone areas, especially near the American or Sacramento Rivers. In foothill neighborhoods, consider fire-resistant materials for added safety. Local wildlife, such as deer or raccoons, may require taller or reinforced fencing for effective pet containment and property security.

Helpful?

Sacramento homes are well-suited for fencing projects if you have clearly marked property lines, enough setback from sidewalks, and relatively level ground. The city’s clay soil requires careful planning for post stability, especially in areas prone to flooding. If you need privacy fencing for pets or to block views from busy streets, or want to deter local wildlife like deer, a well-designed fence is a smart investment.

Helpful?

Sacramento’s hot summers can fade or warp fencing materials, while wet winters cause the clay soil to expand and contract, affecting post stability. Installing deeper posts and using weather-resistant materials helps fences last longer. Seasonal winds and dust may require more frequent cleaning, especially for privacy fencing near open fields. Late spring or early fall is ideal for installation, avoiding extreme heat and heavy rains.

Helpful?

Sacramento’s climate means wood fences need annual sealing and regular termite inspections, while vinyl and metal fences benefit from gentle washing to remove dust and pollen. After winter rains, check for shifting posts due to clay soil movement. Trim back fast-growing local plants like oleander, and adjust sprinklers to prevent water damage. Inspect privacy fencing for gaps, especially if you have pets or want to keep out wildlife.

Helpful?

In Sacramento, skipping required permits for fences over six feet and overlooking local height or setback rules are frequent missteps. Homeowners often forget to call for utility marking before digging, risking damage to underground lines. Choosing fencing materials unsuited for Sacramento’s intense sun or clay soil can lead to early repairs. Not considering neighborhood privacy fencing trends or discussing plans with neighbors may also cause disputes.
