These hardworking scrubbers should be replaced every six months. Most toilet brushes have nylon bristles, and over time, these bristles can bend, fray, or fall out, reducing the effectiveness of the brush. Silicone brushes hold their shape longer, but the softer bristles are less effective at removing residue and build-up. To clean your toilet brush after use, spray it with a disinfecting cleaner and let it air dry by closing the handle under the toilet seat and letting the brush head drip into the toilet bowl.

Onions, peppers, fish, broccoli, and fried chicken taste great—but the leftover smells can be less than appetizing. Depending on the frequency of use, you should clean your jetted tub at least once a month. Cleaning the tub’s surface can be done however often you clean your bathroom, generally once a week, but the deep cleaning of the jets can be performed less frequently. Of course, if you notice anything coming out of the jets at any point while using the tub, that’s a good indication that it’s time to clean the jets.

You can clean a bathroom in five minutes, but you won’t be able to do a deep or thorough cleaning. Five minutes is not enough time to properly clean and disinfect a bathroom, but can allow you to touch up the space before guests arrive. You can surface clean a bathroom in five minutes by wiping down the countertop, faucet, sink, and mirror, along with quickly scrubbing the toilet and wiping down the handle and toilet seat.
