"Vortex Filtration Inc is a excellent company with vast experience & knowledge in conditioning potable well water. I recommend Vortex Filtration Inc to design build and install their patented Vortex water system to solved all well water conditioning issues. My client had a problem for over tens years prior to the installation of the Vortex system. Once installed, the well water in the holding tank was crystal clear. Thanks Vortex!"

"It is difficult to provide an appropriate review, because Michael was helpful to a certain extent, but I could not hire him to do the repairs for extenuating circumstances. I appreciated his sincerity and honesty. He diagnosed the problem accurately but needed to spend an exorbitant amount of time to find the wiring, which was not his fault. I could not hire him back to finish the job as he was too expensive, probably because he comes from Modesto, and I live in the Santa Cruz Mountains. He tried to save me some money by scheduling his visit when he was in the Bay Area. If your problem is simple, I would recommend him."

Wells and Pumps questions, answered by experts

If you have a well-related issue, such as your well water stopping, you should hire a local water well contractor or a well and pump repair professional. These specialists handle all aspects of wells, including the pump, tank, and other outdoor water pumping equipment. They can inspect your system, recommend and perform repairs, and even coordinate a water quality test if needed. While plumbers are experts in indoor plumbing, they may not have the specialized experience with residential wells that a dedicated well contractor does.

Having a well means that a household’s water supply, including water that comes through faucets, showerheads, and appliances, is supplied through a private source rather than from a city. The well pulls fresh water from an underground water supply, such as an aquifer, and the well pump pushes the water from the well to your household.

Many contractors offer warranties for parts and labor. Confirm terms before hiring.

If you notice that your well pump runs continuously, it’s important to take action quickly to avoid further damage. A few common issues may be to blame for a continuously running well pump, such as mechanical damage, a faulty pressure control switch, low water level, prime loss, and leaking pipes and fixtures.

The average three to four-bedroom home typically uses a well pump rated for 8 to 12 gallons per minute (GPM). To find the most accurate size for your specific needs, a common rule of thumb is to count the number of water fixtures and appliances in your home and aim for that number in GPM. This calculation allows for about one gallon of water per minute per fixture. Because estimating the correct size can be challenging, it's best to have a professional technician make the final determination. A professional can ensure your pump provides sufficient water for your home, especially during peak usage hours.
