"QUALITY WORK. Kai and Team were on time, and stayed ahead of planned schedule. Most post holes get two bags concrete..on the important corner post he dug it very deep and put three. Always used levels and stringers. Never guessed. Measured again and again. Also had a custom gate built to on-site specifications. Really great work. Plus Kai and Team are adaptable and capable. Bernardo had great ideas about the style & look. I listened & couldn’t be happier. His pricing was in line with 6 other bids. I selected Bernardo because he offered ideas as opposed to just saying “oh that’s going to cost you more money”. I actually got a custom gate compared to others so in reality, his pricing was the best considering it was more than a rectangular design as others quoted. I highly recommend Bernardo’s fencing. If I had anything to pick at, the clean up could have been a little better. I did do some sweeping up afterwards but that’s all I can think of as a nitpick."

Wrought iron is durable, secure, and adds an elegant aesthetic to its properties.

While many fence companies and fence material retailers refer to their metal fencing as wrought iron fencing, most of it is actually ornamental wrought iron fence. This means that the fence is made to look like traditional wrought iron but is actually made out of either steel or aluminum. Old wrought iron fences typically found at estate sales or on older properties are much heavier and much more prone to rust than the ornamental wrought iron that newer homes and fences use.

Pickets should sit at least 2 inches off the ground to encourage groundwater to flow underneath. Pickets can sit as much as 6 inches off the ground, but setting it any higher could let pets in or out of your yard unintentionally. These are not to be confused with the fence posts anchored underground with soil or concrete footing.

If you hire a fence installer for the project, the time it takes to build a fence is about 20 to 30 hours. Tackling the project yourself will take around 40 to 50 hours. It can take longer if you need to obtain permits, level the ground, remove the old fence, or remove a tree.

Metal fencing is one of the most expensive options and is certainly more expensive than vinyl and oftentimes, wood. Specialized electric fences and, in certain cases, concrete can be more expensive than metal, but wrought iron is one of the most expensive fencing options, which is why you see it most often on expensive estates and in affluent zip codes.
