"Velasco Landscaping did an amazing job installing pavement at my property! From start to finish, the team was professional, efficient, and detail-oriented. The quality of the work exceeded my expectations, and the finished pavement looks fantastic—clean lines, solid craftsmanship, and it’s built to last. They were respectful of the space, cleaned up thoroughly after the job, and completed everything on time. "just had my driveway coated 3800 ft.2 from Dustin and Brad at Everline Coating. They were outstanding and they were half the price of other driveway coating company that I spoke to. They were prompt, professional, polite, courteous, and such hard workers. I just can't say enough About what a professional job they did from preparation to execution. if you call them to re cost your asphalt driveway you'll be glad you did. Here is their contact information. Dustin & Brad Riethmaier +1 (831) 200-3283. Ron"

"I hired Designed Pavers in September 2023 for a 17,000 sq foot paver project in my backyard in downtown Los Gatos. Three men worked full time for about 4 weeks. The manager, Oladia, communicated clearly throughout and was very responsive to my questions. I was so happy with the project that I extended the pavers into my side yard as well. After 6 months and a lot of rain, it looks great, no settling or any other problems. Everyone seems to buy the pavers from the same large distributor, so the real difference is in the skill of the workmen, especially preparing the base and fitting everything in along the edges so it looks neat and clean. I can recommend them without reservation."

Paving Services questions, answered by experts

Paver driveways are durable and aesthetically pleasing, but they do have a few cons. For instance, paver driveways are often more expensive than asphalt and concrete driveways. They also make it easier for weeds to grow where the separate pavers meet up. They may also be more likely to settle over time.

Your driveway contractor will probably recommend that you avoid driving on your new millings driveway for up to a week. Keeping pressure off the freshy applied millings will help the driveway to bind together. While the sun is helpful for binding millings, hotter weather can actually make the curing process take longer.

Interlocking pavers offer a number of advantages over regular pavers. For instance, they’re more durable, more resistant to shifting, and easier to repair. There are also permeable options that allow for drainage. However, interlocking pavers are more often more expensive than regular pavers and are prone to growing weeds over time.

You should place a layer of thick landscaping fabric directly over the concrete slab and then a thin layer of leveling sand over that to protect the pavers from moisture. For border pavers, you should plan on locking them in place with polyurethane adhesive. This will prevent them from shifting under foot traffic.

A traditional driveway gate isn’t your only option when installing a barricade in front of your driveway. A security gate like a swing gate, double swing gate, bi-folding gate, vertical gate, or pivot gate could work just as well as your driveway gate—if not better for your home depending on which qualities you’re after. Like sliding driveway gates, many of these alternatives work with automatic features that simplify entering and exiting your property.
