"Jesus and his assistant were awesome! Jesus showed up the very morning I had requested a quote. I was impressed by the quote and immediately trusted that he could do the job. I work with vendors for a living, and I knew right away that Jesus was the guy for us. He gave me such a good price and told us what he could do for us that I immediately accepted his quote. His assistant did a spectacular job as well and I love our new backyard. Jesus was so kind that he even did additional work for us without mentioning an extra charge, but I was so happy with his work that we paid him extra for what he did. I would highly recommend Jesus. Like I said, he did a spectacular job along with his assistant. Thank you Jesus for everything we love our new backyard and our front yard."

Aquarium Services questions, answered by experts

Your septic tank naturally contains the beneficial bacteria it needs to function, so you typically don't need to add more. However, if you wish to replenish the bacteria, you can use natural methods. For example, you can add three overripe tomatoes to your garbage disposal or flush 1/4 ounce of active yeast down the toilet every three months. While store-bought septic enzymes and chemicals are available, many experts consider them unnecessary and potentially harmful. The most effective way to maintain a healthy bacteria population is to avoid using chemical drain cleaners, which can kill the good bacteria in your system.

A septic tank always has some amount of liquid in it—which should usually be 8 to 12 inches from the top of the tank. If the liquid level is higher than that or is overflowing the drainage pipe that leads out to the leach field, the tank may be too full and in need of pumping.

Whether or not it’s hard to pass a perc test depends a lot on the composition of your soil. When a perc test is conducted where there’s a high concentration of sand in the soil, perc tests almost always pass. However, if your ground is dense clay or rock, it may prove difficult to pass a perc test. A low water table also helps you pass the test, as a high table means your yard isn’t draining water as efficiently.

There are a few signs that indicate a failing drain field. For instance, if your septic tank starts requiring more pumping than normal, your drain field might be failing. Other signs to watch for include poor drainage after rain, standing water or sewage over the septic system, a strong septic smell outside, new and healthy grass growing over the drain field, and plumbing backups in your sinks, bathtubs, or toilets.

Your septic tank may be full or clogged if you notice household drains that are backed up, draining slowly, or gurgling; greener, lusher grass around the septic system; pooling water in your yard; or smelling sewage odors outdoors. You can contact a local septic tank pro to inspect your septic system and pump your tank.
