"Great example of how a contractor experience should be with each and every one of their clients. This contractor was prompt at initial meeting, followed through on the work agreed to complete, and left the job in perfect condition. Installed new pad, stretched carpet, fixed threshold moldings, removed small are of hardwood flooring and replaced with new, installed new baseboards. Highly recommend this contractor. Granite Restoration questions, answered by experts

Professionals remove scratches, stains, and etching, restoring the stone’s natural shine and extending its lifespan.

How long it takes to complete stone restoration work will vary from home to home and project to project. Overall, a professional can complete a one-room project in one to two days. When vetting your local contractors, be sure to ask them how long they think the project will take to factor in any that could speed up or prolong the completion of the project.

Granite is naturally water-resistant and suitable for kitchens, bathrooms, and entryways. However, proper sealing and maintenance are essential to prevent staining or water damage, especially in areas prone to frequent spills or high humidity. Choosing the proper sealant and reapplying it regularly will help maintain the floor’s durability and appearance in these environments.

Some of the cheapest ways to change granite countertops without replacing them include painting, honing, or changing the finish, covering them with tile or laminate, and using countertop contact paper. Dollar for dollar, applying countertop film is the cheapest, easiest, and most reversible way to update the look of your countertops. No matter what you choose, remember that permanently marring the original countertops can cost you money when you’re trying to sell your home, so make smart choices and preserve the integrity of the granite.

Unsealed granite is more susceptible to staining and other damage. Regularly sealing your granite countertops decreases the chances you’ll need to repair damaged countertops in the future. It also keeps it looking shiny rather than becoming dull over time. You can check whether your granite needs resealing by putting a few drops of water on the counter and waiting 15 minutes to see whether the water permeates the surface.
