Customers say: Quick response

"Incredible customer service throughout the entire experience.  I've never had anything upholstered before, and it was such a pleasant experience.  Variety of fabric selections at the store.  Chairs were reupholstered with new Sunbrella fabric and are so much more comfortable than before.  Will definitely recommend to friends and family, and we'll definitely use them again in the future!

"After getting much of my furniture damaged, they hooked me up with Touch of Class Restoration. Leo was Outstanding, Professional, Courteous, and Provided Quality Repairs to my furniture that had been damaged from my move. I made the mistake of getting my couch cleaned Before getting it taken away to be repaired, and after it came back repaired I noticed streaks of something that had gotten on it After I had already signed the paperwork. I got back in touch with Leo and he made a great effort to bring my original couch cleaners back out to clean it for me. I would definitely use this business again if I ever need to."

Upholstering questions, answered by experts

Reupholstering is often worthwhile for high-quality, antique, or sentimental couches, especially if the frame is sturdy. It can cost less than buying a comparable new piece and allows for customization, but may not be cost-effective for low-end furniture.

The time required to reupholster furniture depends on the item's size, complexity, and condition. The hands-on work can range from 2-3 hours for a simple dining chair to 10 to 20 hours for a large sofa. The total project timeline with a professional, including fabric sourcing and scheduling, typically ranges from one to three weeks.

Several factors can affect the timeline. Antique furniture often takes longer due to the delicate care required. If additional repairs are needed, such as sanding or refinishing wood components, the process will also take more time. A DIY reupholstery project will usually take significantly longer than a professional job.

The best way to test the quality of a leather couch is to put your hands on it. If the upholstery is soft and warm, that’s a good indication that the quality is higher. It should also smell like traditional leather. If it smells like chemicals, you’re probably dealing with low-grade leather.

Paper moving pads, also called furniture wrapping paper or paper moving blankets, are sheets of recycled paper used to protect various items during moving. Similar to traditional moving blankets, paper pads are also reusable, making them a sustainable and cost-effective option for protecting your belongings during the moving process. Although they’re recycled, they still provide excellent protection against dust, dirt, and scratches.

DIY upholstery is feasible for simple pieces with the right tools and skills, though intricate jobs typically require professional expertise for the best results.
