"Our front yard was a muddy mess. We had a Liquid Amber Tree removed by another company we thought was the culprit for the mess. It did solve one leak, however, we had a much larger leak still! Ugh!! Well, Honest Sewer & Drain's Dustin Heffington talked to us on the phone in length determining the company could help us with our absolute muddy mess and leak! Within just an hour of Dustin working on the problem, the leak was found and the solution was told to us. Dustin did an excellent job. He was very thorough and professional. By the end of the day, the leak was repaired and the ground cleaned up. Thank you very much!! If you need a plumber, do not hesitate to contact Honest Sewer and Drain!"

"Zach was a great find for my family’s plumbing needs. Hired him for a slow draining sewer main that needed to be snaked and after that went smoothly I felt confident to hire him again do a sink replacement with new garbage disposal in my kitchen. Since that turned out so nice I hired him yet again to install a tankless water heater as well! Couldn’t be happier with the work and recommended him to extended family that was also looking to have work done at their homes. We will definitely give Wolcott plumbing a call for any of our future plumbing projects/repairs in the future as he has proven to be a competent do it all plumbing service company."

Sewer Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Professionals use augers, hydrojetting equipment, and cameras for precise clearing and inspection.

Some flushable wipes companies say they are designed to disintegrate within a few hours to a few days after being flushed. These wipes allegedly use materials that are more water-soluble than traditional wipes. However, many experts have raised concerns that even so-called "flushable" wipes do not break down as easily as claimed and can contribute to clogs and blockages in sewer systems.

To prevent plumbing and sewer problems, avoid flushing wipes, even those labeled as flushable. Instead, dispose of them in the trash. This can help prevent costly plumbing issues and reduce the strain on wastewater treatment systems.

You should not attempt to snake your sewer yourself. Accessing and snaking your sewer requires heavy-duty equipment, and while renting is possible, misusing it can damage your sewer main and leave you with very expensive repair costs, not to mention potential environmental issues and severe water damage. Accessing your sewer also exposes you to hazardous sewer gasses, and failing to seal the sewer properly after work can be very dangerous. It’s always best to hire a professional sewer cleaner near you to handle this type of work.

There are many things that could cause your basement floor drain to back up. One significant cause of a drainage backup is flushing non-flushable items, such as wipes, paper towels, and facial tissue. Other causes of a backed-up basement floor drain include tree roots impeding the drain pipe or an accumulation of hair, oil, and grease.

No, you typically cannot use metal detectors to find your sewer line. Most sewer lines are made of non-metallic materials such as PVC, clay, or cast iron, which are not detectable by standard metal detectors. Metal detectors are designed to locate metallic objects, so they won't be effective for identifying the path of a non-metallic sewer line. To locate your sewer line accurately, it's best to use other methods.
