"Friendly and professional. I hired Steve to spread rock on a neglected road on our property. The job was completed within the time frame and cost agreed upon and I am happy with the result."

"My front yard was a mess! I wanted to get rid of the grass and re-landscape with low water plants etc. Before I could do anything I need the lawn removed and have the yard graded. Josh and his team did more than just that. I had planned on installing a new walk way. All estimates for concrete were absurd. Josh and his team removed a stump and roots that were running under my house and ready to break my water main. Graded everything. Put in a DG walkway. Repaired some broken pvc lines and laid down industrial grade landscape fabric for less than what the cement walkway would have been. AWESOME WORK AND A PLEASURE TO WORK WITH! Thanks again guys!!!!"

Excavating questions, answered by experts

Call 811 to locate and mark the gas lines at least three days before digging. In many areas, you can dig within 18 inches of the lines, though in some locations, the distance may be further. Check local regulations, as you may need a utility company representative onsite when digging. Document your calls to 811 and precautions taken to avoid gas lines. A homeowner can be held liable for hitting a gas line in some cases, but contacting the proper authorities and following all guidelines can offer protection.

Sewer lines can be buried anywhere from 18 inches to 8 feet deep, with a common average depth between 18 and 30 inches. The exact depth depends on local factors like climate and soil type. In colder regions, pipes must be buried deeper (below the frost line) to prevent freezing, sometimes as deep as 8 feet. The digging depth can also impact the cost of sewer line replacement. To find the specific depth for your property, you can check the building plans for your system, which should be on file with your city or local sanitation department since permits are required for installation.

You can bury underground electrical wire six inches deep—but only if you use a rigid metal electrical conduit. For rigid, non-metallic conduits, bury the wire at least 12 inches deep. If using an underground feeder cable rated for direct burial, you'll need to place it at least 18 inches deep, as it has no conduit for extra protection.

Yes, most services include site leveling and foundation work. Confirm with your contractor for specifics.

Hardscaping often requires preparation of the ground in the area where the feature is being installed. This can include digging, compacting, and leveling the soil, ensuring adequate drainage, and removing any existing plants. The extent of preparation needed will depend on the type and size of the hardscaping feature being installed.
