"Sergio did a fantastic job! Very happy with the clean install of my tier 2 charger and he added a plug down below my panel. Would recommend for any sort of EV charging installs! Clear communicator, showed up when he said he would and his services were well-priced!"

"My experience with Zero Electric was great! James was extremely knowledgeable about home generators and walked us through several pricing options that fit our budget. Their work was clean and efficient and I will definitely be hiring him in the future for our electrical issues."

"Omar from The Weekend Project. We had a lot of little electrical items that needed to be done around our house. Omar responded quickly, came over and listened to all of our needs which included LED lights in our garage, two additional garage outlets, clean up garage wiring, two motion sensor lights, one Ring camera flood lights, installed two ceiling fans in our home and repaired an outlet in our backyard. He gave us a fair price and stuck to it. He came back for a second job when he said he would, and did a great job. We highly recommend him and consider him our new electrician!"

Generator Install questions, answered by experts

Many services include assembling the unit and securing it in the window. Confirm with your provider.

While the rating will tell you how many watts the refrigerator needs at the peak of its cycle, it requires additional wattage to start. At the bare minimum, you’ll need a 1,500-watt generator to get the fridge up and running after a blackout. A 2,000-watt generator should be sufficient for most home refrigerators.

Yes, in some locations, it is required by the National Electric Code (NEC) to have a transfer switch installed for electrical emergencies. In addition to following electrical code, generator transfer switches ensure your home is fully protected during a power outage. By switching the power from the main breaker to the generator breaker, you can seamlessly operate your HVAC, lights, appliances, devices, and more during an emergency.

Natural gas and electricity rates vary significantly based on location, and pricing can change over time, too. It’s possible that in locations where natural gas is particularly inexpensive, it will cost less than grid-based electricity will. However, you should also factor in the generator’s initial costs and maintenance needs, as well as its noise level and if it can comfortably power all your home appliances.

Potential benefits of using a natural gas generator include reducing your carbon footprint, lower likelihood of carbon monoxide exposure, budget-friendly operating costs, and low-maintenance, continuous fuel supply. Some possible drawbacks, though, include higher initial installation costs, dependency on a natural gas supply, and installation complexity. Keep in mind that pros and cons will vary based on the type and brand of natural gas generator.
