"As a former licensed building contractor and well respected by the building commission in Colorado Springs, CO, I must say that HD Mechanical Inc. superseded my expectations. Brandon was excellent! They were very considerate and laid a tarp on all the floors to minimize trash or dirt on the floor. Brandon came over very considerate to my needs and "did not" try to up sale me on other services that others do such as installing new venting when it is not really needed. They pulled the permit in Downey, CA and it easily passed. He communicated with me every step of the way. The receive 5 stars from me!"

"My HVAC unit relatively new. It was recommended the I add a compressor relay and capacitor startup unit. The price I was told was $375.00. I went on-line to look up the pricing for this type of device. The prices were really cheap. I donâ  t understand the $375.00 figure. I would appreciate feedback from the owner (Robert). I highly respect Robertâ  s option and will comply with Robertâ  s recommendation. Robert did an outstanding job installing my unit. I donâ  t want to add unnecessary devices to this unit. I was told that the compressor start amps were high, and this device would bring the value down and reduce the load on compressor. I respect the technicianâ  s recommendation, but seek Robertâ  s input."

"Issac and his crew had to improvise a bit because our home has no garage so they had to store tools and equipment inside. they were careful to clean up daily and covered sensitive areas of the house.

As the bathrooms were so old we anticipated issues and there were a couple of unexpected problems, but Issac and his crew knew how to deal with them. They also were helpful in selecting tile at a good price and making suggestions about how best to maximize the space in our one tiny shower, which now feels much larger than before. There were no major delays, just one extra week due to special order for a shower glass.

The remodel moved at the pace anticipated and Issac kept us up to date on any changes.

We had a couple of tiny cracks in the grout a few weeks after job was done which Issac repaired at no cost.

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

Depending on what the blueprints are for, a qualified draftsperson, contractor, or architect can draw them up. In some cases, including specialty permitting for a build, you may be required to use a licensed architect.

In many cases, a blueprint drawn up by a certified professional is required before a city or municipality approves a permit.

A designer is a great choice for remodeling projects that don’t require significant structural work. For remodeling that includes structural work like removing load-bearing walls, altering exterior walls, or adding on a room, an architect can design and execute the renovations while ensuring your home remains structurally sound.

New constructions, renovations, and interior layouts benefit from expert drafting.

Costs depend on project complexity, materials, labor, permits, and required revisions.

You don’t have to commit to a complete home renovation to age in place comfortably—those can get pricey. Instead, focus on a few impactful changes. Consider adding a stair lift or installing ramps to eliminate barriers. Upgrading to non-slip flooring can prevent falls while adding brighter lighting can improve visibility throughout your home. These thoughtful updates can make your home much easier to navigate and enhance your comfort and safety without the stress and cost of a complete overhaul.
