Customers say: Quick response

"The wrought iron at our house was rusted and faded. Irvine was friendly over the phone and came out to give us an estimate for the work. We liked him immediately. He was such a warm and friendly person who clearly explained the steps and materials needed to repair all our wrought iron including the welding, priming, painting and sealing process. He and his crew worked steadily and were able to finish our job in two days. We couldn't be happier with the result. Irvine was always willing to show us the progress and took time to make sure things were progressing as we had hoped. Irvine and his team were a pleasure to work with and we highly recommended them."

"Had an iron fence that had multiple posts with damage to the concrete block bases as well as some rusted posts due to water damage. The concrete blocks were rebuilt and the rusted posts had new pieces welded to provide stability to the fence. The plan was well described with the estimate. Everything was done as promised in a timely manner. Extremely pleased with the repairs. and the repair looks great."

"Jesus and his team are great and very professional. Having never shopped for interior railings before, we quickly discovered it was not as easy as picking up something from Home Depot. We called a few places and prices were really high. Then we eventually found Jesus. Prices were great. He and his team were very responsive. They did a home visit to measure and show me an example of the material. Production was estimated three weeks, but ended up being shorter. The install involved welding and looked pretty complex. But they were in and out in less than a day. I would advise checking the height on your current rails to reference for the new railings. There are city codes to keep in mind, but it was helpful for us to share the height reference with them. I would definitely recommend this team if you need new rails."

Welding questions, answered by experts

Choosing the right metal fabricator for your project begins with research. Find a reputable fabrication company by searching for reputable contractors in your area, and then reviewing photos of their previous work, customer reviews, and photos of the company’s workshop.

Once you’ve narrowed down the list, contact the companies to ask about the types of metal fabrication projects they specialize and inquire about guarantees and warranties on workmanship. You should also ensure the company uses high-quality material, and ask about the schedule and turnaround time for your proposed project.

Costs depend on unit complexity, labor, wall mounting needs, and additional accessories like floating shelves.

Cutting round ductwork requires precision and the right tools. A duct cutter, specifically designed for circular ducts, is ideal. First, mark the cutting line on the duct using a measuring tape and pencil. Then, position the duct cutter's blade on the marked line. Apply steady pressure, rotating the cutter around the duct. The sharp blade creates a clean, precise cut. Alternatively, a reciprocating saw with a metal-cutting blade can be used for larger round ducts. Ensure the duct is securely held in place while making the cut to prevent slips and maintain accuracy.

Welders use a variety of methods in their trade. Different types of welding are better suited for different purposes and contexts. For example, stick welding is a versatile form suitable for most metals and alloys. The most common types of welding include:

  • Stick welding: $100–$1,000

  • Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding: $250 and up

  • Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding: $250 and up

  • Gas welding: $150 and up

  • Forge welding: $15–$25 per hour

Yes, you can cut plexiglass by hand using a sharp knife or blade (utility knife, box cutter, glass cutter, etc.).
