Customers say: Quick response

"I had two other folks that came by to view the work that I wanted done. It was a single section of iron pickets that needed to be replaced. Both of these folks wanted to talk me into doing the entire 40-50 feet of pickets. The price was in the several thousand dollars. It may have beenreasonable, or so I think, for the length of repair.. However, the only area that needed to be repaired was the one section. I mentioned to them that since the home is near the water, that I am sure that in time this will need to be addressed (perhaps 10-15 years). Irvined Ornamental came and quickly summed up what needed to be repaired and did not try to talk me into tearing down a perfectly suitable fence. it is refreshing that such folks still are around. It goes without saying, that they came the next day and repaired it. They brought their welding equipment and did a fantastic job at a fair price."

"I hired Manny and his team to extend an existing chain link fence and add some barbed wire. He was reasonably priced, worked quickly and was responsive. I'd use Manny again when i need fencing."

"James was exceptionally professional and polite and did an outstanding job on the rails that he installed in my house with both the backyard and the front. He’s a perfectionist and I will hire him and re-hire him over and over and recommend him over and over. Very humble and a very soulful human being. I give him 10 stars not five. Thank you, James for the wonderful professional job. :)"

Welding questions, answered by experts

The cost to weld aluminum averages about $14 to $22 per pound. The type of metal factors into the overall cost of any welding project due to the cost of the materials and the expertise required to work with it. Some of the most common metals used by welders include:

  • Magnesium alloy: $7–$16 per pound

  • Low-carbon steel: $11–$12 per pound

  • Stainless steel: $13–$15 per pound

  • Copper/brass: $24–$29 per pound

  • Cast iron: $38–$79 per pound

  • Titanium: $60–$85 per pound

Your typical household tools will not cut a metal pipe. To cut a metal pipe, you’d need more specialized tools like a pipe cutter or circular saw. Do not attempt to use these tools without taking proper safety precautions and wearing safety gear. It’s usually safer to let a pro cut a metal pipe, especially if you’re not confident in your skills with a heavy-duty saw.

While a high-speed circular saw will cut through metal, and even cut through multiple sheets at once, the fast-spinning saw blades create a lot of heat. This heat can damage paint and other protective coatings, leading to serious problems like rust over time. The cost to paint a metal roof again to avoid this damage is typically an additional $0.50 to $1 per square foot.

Since water heaters are primarily made of metal, they’re commonly accepted by scrap yards and collectors. Don’t expect to fetch a high price, though—water heaters are mostly steel and aluminum, which aren’t high-value metals. Some components are made of more valuable metals, like brass and copper, but they’re a small portion of the heater and won’t affect the price much.

To maintain custom or fabricated metal structures and extend their lifespan and appearance, perform regular cleaning, apply rust prevention treatments, and use protective coatings.
