"It went good, it took about 2 hrs and 45 min. The only thing is they were an hour late. Overall they did a great job. I would recommend Nature’s Tree Service but suggest they be on time to job."

"Everything went well. He was on time for the appointment for the estimate and on the day of tree removal. He did the work while I was away at work and the results are very good. Hector was pleasant to deal with and I will be giving him all my tree work from now on."

"The two men listened to what I wanted. Then went to work. They were respectful of the surrounding plants and yard. They did a wonderful job trimming and thinning our Japanese Black Pine. The shaping came out great. They also cleaned up the yard and hauled away all trimmings. And cleaned the sidewalk I will recommend Personalized Tree Service, and will use them again."

"Because of changing weather conditions, the initial appointment was canceled. The reschedule was for Saturday. Two of their crew members showed up Friday on the property unannounced and started working, After a couple of quick, blunt phone calls were made, an acceptable explanation was given. It appears there was a data entry error at his end. The rest of the work crew and equipment showed up shortly after and the work was completed efficiently, quickly, and professionally. I would personally recommend Alfonsos Tree Service. They were very friendly and cooperative. I am very happy with their work and would hire them again."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Tree roots don’t necessarily break through concrete on their own, but they can certainly take advantage of existing cracks, even very small ones. As roots grow, they expand the cracks, making them larger and leading to serious and costly foundation damage. It’s a good idea to have repairs on any foundation cracks you’re concerned about.

Trees naturally want to grow upward, so one may straighten all by itself, though this only comes into play when a tree is leaning just a small amount. For trees growing into an awkward position or those leaning heavily in one direction, the above steps are necessary to ensure the tree gets back on the right path. This also holds true for trees planted in a spot with unstable soil.

Tree experts don’t advise against digging through tree roots, but instead encourage caution and consultation with a local arborist to make sure you don’t damage the tree’s structure or interrupt its water or nutrient intake. An arborist can recommend specific practices when digging and help prune the roots or dig a trench for utilities with a tool that can remove soil without touching the tree’s roots.

You’ll have to balance up the cost, the value of the tree (sentimental or otherwise), and the risk factors. An experienced arborist will help you understand whether transplanting is likely to be successful. The cost and hassle of transplanting a large, well-established tree are often not worth it, especially if the species is fast-growing and easy to source. The decision depends on the age and species of the tree, the conditions in the new site location, and how careful the company is when digging out and moving the tree.

Aside from removing dead or diseased branches, you should prune your trees somewhere between every one and three years. Some people—particularly commercial farmers—prune their apple trees yearly to produce higher yields. This is the best way to promote tree health. That said, the average homeowner can get away with hard-pruning their mature apple tree every other year or every three years.
